About 7:59 you mentioned rakshasa vivaaha. But one interesting fact to note is that Rukmini, in her love letter to Krishna, requested him to abduct her and marry her in Rakshasa style marriage. And Krishna also does so. I am not making this up. It is really in Srimad Bhagavatam. So i think the part about no consent is not always true.

Marriage is purely a family matter performed as per their faith, tradition, custom, scriptures, sampradaya and convenience. There is no specific provision in the constitution for conduct of marriage. Unfortunately after independence gov't interfered with Hindu way of life and enacted laws for anulling hindu marriage generally known as divorce laws which is not acceptable as per any Hindu scriptures or culture or Dharma at any point of time in the past in any Yugas or Kalpas.
