I rode through this tunnel a few years ago, and it was truly exceptional. What was very interesting to me is that I had cell phone service the entire time!
I love these videos; helps me “revisit” places I’ve lived or been to; and places I want to go to. I also like the text rather than speaking; it helps me enjoy the views more!
Long trips like that put me to sleep. The movement knocks me right out. But I enjoy watching your videos taking us along for the ride; get to see the sights without worrying about falling asleep.
I've been drinking honey in coffee n teas for over half a century .. the real taste of sweetness .. nothing else compares. Thanks for another great journey. Bushyboy Oz.
I mean, they also have better paying jobs, good healthcare, likely good education, etc. More than likely even low income people have a better life there than most places, especially the US.
yes its true but you guys have lots of money.most of the billioners live in USA.your goverment can build this type of train system but the pessenger load will be less because most people have their own big heavy duty pickup trucks.and i think people will use them if they have experienced NYC subway.
This was built on time and on budget. Leave it to the Swiss. BTW in the US, unions make everything cost more including delays and cost overruns when big projects are involved. If they say 16 billion to build it turns out to cost 20 billion guaranteed.
Your English humour is very funny. It's a shame paper coffee cups are used. It may be an economy, but think of the millions of paper cups in a landfill. 12:00 the view of the lake is similar to the view from the Burke-Gilman bike trail on the West side of Lake Washington.
I understand what you mean. But you have to see it with the eyes of a Japanese. 1.) They do not have much time and want to see all the hot-spots in only a few days. 2.) Japanese like travelling by train. So Kuga also seems to be a train-enthusiast. 3.) I personally agree according travelling by train. Only for to see the vegetation and to get a overview about a country travelling by train is really good. You met more foreign people comparing to travelling by bus or car.
Might be how you choose to eat a roll and croissant but here is a tip. Most people cut it in half horizontally and then put the butter and honey/jam on.
Hello from Italy! I tried the Sagami Japanese restaurant that you visited in this video and I ate very well: finally a real Japanese restaurant and not a recycled Chinese,,, Moreover, I discovered that Sagami restaurants are present in many Italian cities, so I will not fail to try others. It is truly curious that a Japanese is able to recommend a restaurant to an Italian. I will probably still need your advice in September when I visit Japan!
Okay, at 4:41 there is something I have been wondering about. I see the window is for your seat and the one behind you. So what happens if the person behind you wants the shade down and you don't, since both seats share the same window.
Greetz from Berlin
I don’t know what languages you speak but do you have trouble communicating with others when traveling? The views of Switzerland were very green and lust, I enjoyed the view.
If you are such a train enthousiast why skipping the most spectacular train ride over the Swiss Alps in the world's most spectacular mountain scenery, for a ride through the Gotthard tunnel just a few kilometers longer than a similar tunnel in Japan? I don't get it: what's the kick? Sitting in luxurious fast trains all the time and getting expensive meagre snacks and experience different seats and bathrooms .... If you have seen one, you have have seen them all I reckon?
Ta cru qu il allait mettre plein de lumière en revanche ce tunnel est incroyable c l’un des rare tunnel qui propose une lgv avec une une vitesse max de 250 km/h !
dear science guy san...I tried honey in coffee once. Only once! sorry to read you had pain running for the train; doing so much in just two weeks could be the culprit, no? thanks for bringing us along🚝❤✌
the Moncenisio tunnel ( She will be open 2028 ) which will connect Turin/Lyon will be the longest railway tunnel in the world and will exceed the Gotthard tunnel by about 500 meters 🇲🇫 🇮🇹
Thanks for watching as always!

Very nice video Kuga san,, Switzerland is a very beautiful but expensive country as I am sure you have found out!
I mean, they also have better paying jobs, good healthcare, likely good education, etc. More than likely even low income people have a better life there than most places, especially the US.
Not to mention access to Swiss chocolate any time. That alone would be worth it! 😂

Hello from usa🙏thx 4 taking us along✨️
5:42 love the crack about the contact list 😂😂😂
So jealous of countries with good train systems. We have nothing like this in the USA

Never despair, the US were built on rail and a renaissance IS possible
@@buriburizaemon1711you act like swiss don't own Cars
Well, even though that is quite an amazing cost, I do think that money invested in railway infrastructure is always money well spent.
"Let me show you my favorite Japanese restaurant I found yesterday". You make me laugh, Thank You!
You make good videos and Thank You Kuga.
Such a beautiful scenery whilst travelling at high speed. Incredible.
Your videos are very relaxing
I enjoy your all travelling videos
$13B for a 56 km tunnel system isn’t that bad. Amtrak is projecting $16B for the Hudson River tunnel project. That’s 5 to 6 km at the most.
and aslo this is an BASE tunnel, so it costs way more then normal tunnels.
This was built on time and on budget. Leave it to the Swiss. BTW in the US, unions make everything cost more including delays and cost overruns when big projects are involved.

I don't no why they served paper cups, normally they use proper dishes in swiss dining cars.
What is the use of travelling to Switzerland without watching its scenic beauty?
I understand what you mean. But you have to see it with the eyes of a Japanese. 1.) They do not have much time and want to see all the hot-spots in only a few days. 2.) the culture difference can be shocking 😆
Very nice video bro.

Please Kuga San, can you let us know the name of that japanese restaurant in Milano, near the Stazione Centrale ? Thank a lot in advance !!!
Si, signor Kuga ci può dire il nome del ristorante?
Omg that's my birthday last year!
This episode made me laugh 😆
Kuga san, was it you dimming the sound or was the train really that quiet? Beautiful video, btw. Take care and safe travels.
The train really mostly is that quiet. Especially in the Gotthard tunnel the tracks are incredibly smooth
Hi, nice video! It could help to know the name of the japanese restaurant in Milano...😉
Super filmik 🤗✨✨✨🤗🤗🤗✨✨✨ ok 😀😀😉😉 pozdrawiam serdecznie 🤗✨✨🤗🤗✨
🤗🤗🤗 Super. Thank you.
I'm glad you had the chance to try honey in coffee. I've drunk mine that way for years and prefer it to sugar
Nice!
Hi! I'm visiting Italy and Switzerland in June. Do you know which trains is covered under eurail and which is not?
Hello from Italy! 9:51 I see what you did there 😏🤣

I've always wondered that, too!
Just talk with the other person if they mind having the shade down/up
Se agarran a trompadas jaja
If I'm not mistaking, the cook and some other guy of Nagami Restaurant next to Central Station in MIlan is japanese.
Now I want to go to Milan just to try that restaurant. 🥢

Great trip, finally you make a trip passing Gotthard Base Tunnel. I'm curious, is there any European trip report on your device which is unpublished?

DONE.
Ridiculosly expansive for a such a slow train
😂😂
What an interesting and sleek route.
I wonder what the financial payback is on that investment. It must be at least 50 years 😮
05:24. Lol
Hi Kuga- too bad they don't have that restaurant in Tokyo (your hometown) :D

The Gotthard Base Tunnel can only be seen by taking the train.😆

Swiss landscape..umm okay but nothing compared to Japan.
That is not true. Switzerland is a small country comparing to Japan. The landscape in the middle of Japan is not much different.
