Hi there, Great video. I have 2 big gates that when they gets wet they expand that much I can’t get the gates open. Do you recon ducks back will help the gate expanding when they get wet? It’s about one year on now since you treated your lovely fence with Ducks Back. Dose your fences still repel the water. Thanks you
It's looks pretty good to be honest but it is a lille green around the base and some panels so it's good that it is green to start with. I'm going to be checking not too long to see how I feel it's done in a year
I’m using Cuprinol Ducksback at the moment. I’m painting 6 - 6ft x 6ft tantalised panals hoping to give three coats. I have 20 litres of fence paint and it’s no way enough. The first coat really sucks up the paint. I’m considering if I should water down the first coat?
I can only go by my experience. I have 5 6x6 tanalised panels. They were already coated from years before apart from the new lattice top piece. I used 2 x 9 litre tubs. That was enough. The second coat used a lot less. I did both sides. Hope this helps
To add. Ensure you give it a very good stir. If not you will find the top of the tin will be thinner. Keep giving it a stir. If you find it thicker half way into the tin. Yes water it down a bit.
Sealing knots is a good idea but this is not a paint. It is a pigment in a preserver which is designed to penetrate the wood so a primer is not best in this case
@@purplerabbitfilms you would use a clear knotting solution and painting staining over grey weathered timber isn't a good idea. you need to treat the timber with owatrol oil first mean your using a water based system or use a timber reviver to get back down to sound timber
Thanks for posting. I've looked everywhere for what Cuprinol Forest Green looks like on a fence/shed.
Nice lattice work over your fence too. Very smart
Thanks, I wanted something different than standard trellis

To be honest haven't checked lately. But if I remember I'll pop out in the rain some time
Really useful vid. Thanks
Thanks. Still going strong this year. I won’t use anything else. Look out for promotion’s Easter time. Hope this helps
Hi, Just wondering how it looks a year later?

Good green paint

The color looks like the "go away green" used ind Disney parks all over the world to hide fences, lamp posts etc.
Been a while since I’ve been to a Disney park but now I think about it lol. !!
you need to seal the knots first and you can't paint over denatured timber
