Hi guys! first of all thanks a lot for your videos about wonderful boat Winga. Now I became happy owner of winga 78 and I have a question for you. I see you have patent reef system for mainsail. How you handle with it in strong winds? Could you make a video about sails on "FairLady"? Thank you very much.

Hi Dmitrii, first of all thank you! Our Winga still has the old roll boom. If we know the winds become stronger we always reef beforehand. we can not reef from the cockpit. one has to go on deck and roll the oil down. Here you can go down as fare as you like. normally we sail the boat into the wind first and start the engine, because it is not an easy cause. to get the sail down easier it helps to lift the end of the boom up a little.... But honest this system is much to heavy for me to get the sails up or down. So with next season we might change the system .... Yes we could do a video but only next season, since we are out of water for this year ....if you are on Facebook there is a Winga group, if you haven't joint jet: Winga Sailing Vessels Worldwide. cheers Anja /FairLady

      Hi Sergey,
1.If the weather is not good we can close the cockpit as you can see in some of the other videos. O ur Winga has a build in petroleum heater, which heats the cockpit as well. very nice and warm.
      2. Winga was built in Sweden for the baltic sea. No classification for atlantic.
      3. The cockpit has a drainage into the sea. That is ok if it rains.
      4. She will not cope if there would come a big wave over. If you get into a storm you should close the roof to keep the waves outside.
      5. We had winds up to 35 kns and waves up to 4 meters. No problem for the winga.
I hope this helps. - Feel free to ask if there are more questions.
