Would you guys be willing to talk more about your rough patch? I feel like a lot of newly poly relationships go through it and don’t know how to handle it.
My funniest bed story is that when me and my friend got high for the first time in high school he decided to cannonball onto my bed and as Cody described the bed immediately broke. Since we were so high we didn’t try to fix it, so that night as I laid in the middle of the sunken in mattress I felt like I was falling into a black hole and got so scared I slept on the floor 😅
I think a lot of people don't sleep in the same bed and there's nothing wrong with that. I haven't slept in the same room as my wife our whole marriage, and we've been happy for over 13 years now.
i used to see this couple and everytime i slept over the women was excited bc she could be the middle spoon. i once joked they were unicorn hunting for spooning and she got SO GUILTY she woke me up in the middle of the night so i could be the middle spoon. it was very funny, but i was just kidding
Fave bed story- my gf and I (both tall fat ladies) have our 70 lb pitt sleep with us in our queen sized bed. throughout the night the pup slowly scoots up the bed and army crawls between us so she's sandwiched in the middle. And now when we try to make her go to the foot of the bed and just flops over on her back and its too cute to not just allow lol
That's like Toulouse sleeping on top of me (Maggie.) Cody won't allow it because he actually wants to sleep but I just want my big boy to love on me. So I let him sleep on top of me and I just lay there awake all night.
As a teen my bed broke one night so where my head was snapped and the mattress dropped to the floor at a slant. Low-key just left it like that for a month. It's was finals. 🤦🏻 But also love that you mentioned how just because you don't sleep together doesn't mean you don't love each other and how important it is for all couples to do what works best for them regardless of the norms.
Oh gosh yea - I am currently single but previously I had like a year of awful sleep before I finally said I NEED my own bed for sleeping! People are so weird about sleeping together but its like SLEEP is so important for every aspect of health and you should do everything possible to make sure you get the best sleep.
So I'll be the first to follow the comment prompt. LOL My worst bed story happened when we had moved into the house we currently live in. I had just finished setting my bed up and was getting ready for bed. Our cat, Mufassa (Bubba, to me, because I'm wierd and he's a big ginger boy.) came up into my room. Since it was out first night in the house, I thought he was just confused and scared and wanted to cuddle when he jumped up on my bed. NOPE. He pissed on my mattress and blanket. So I got to spend the first night in the new house sleeping in my lazy boy.
When my husband and I first started living together we were both teenagers, 18-19. I was living in a caravan on a property and he came to join me. I was sleeping on a single mattress and of course that didnt suit the both of us so we built a bed frame from old scrap metal, welded it together, painted it, we were super proud about how clever we were until we thought about how to get it inside the caravan, it didn’t fit through the door at all 😂😂 So we had to cut up our beautiful bed and try to reassemble it inside. It was not sturdy at all lol.
I am very late to this video, but I am laughing so hard I am crying. I am so sorry for 18/19 year old you. (But this could definitely be happening to me, a 35 year old with ADHD.)
This is so understandable! When I was still in a triad/throuple (which I miss and loved so much), we all used to squish into a double 😆 and then I used to sleep in my own bed (me and one of my partners lived together) and I just had to explain, I’d like to sleep in my own bed and slowly they understood. Sometimes our other partner would sleep in my bed. Just depended. I’m all for sleeping independently sometimes!
My fiancé and I sleep in separate beds. I snore horribly and he is a super light sleeper!! All for not sleeping together if it helps everyone get enough sleep!
My best bed story: My mom left for the weekend and I was left alone with my super pregnant dog. I was woken up at 5 am by two cries, one that I knew (my girl dog) and a little tiny one. Once I was conscious enough I realized she has her first puppy in the bed next to my head instead of the very comfy bed we made her to have her puppies lol She then proceeded to drag the puppy from my bed to the one made for her right next to us. We ended up keeping that puppy and we always say he is kind of a doof cause she dropped him but it was like 5 cm from my bed to her coushiony bed xD
My husband was in the military and when we first got married I stayed in the dorms with him. I definitely not supposed to so I hid a lot even though I was his wife. We were just broke so we couldn’t afford a hotel. So we slept on his crappy not even a real mattress smaller than a twin bed in the summer in Germany where there is no AC. He was also working nights so we slept during the day and it was AWFUL. It was well over 90 degrees some days and I wanted to kill him 😂 After that I made it clear that I love him. But I love sleep more. Now we have a California king just for the two of us and I’ll never go back. We both hate being touched while we’re sleeping and I sleep with three body pillows. 😆
Favourite bed story - My Dad was staying the night in my bed and I was on a blow-up mattress on the floor, we were absolutely rotten, and all I see is my dad swan dive onto the centre of my bed and then bounce back off it again and getting stuck in the gap between my bed and the wall.
It's so strange that when you're not in a regular heteo relationship people assume your relationship revolves around sex. If you're in a relationship that involves same gender people's minds also seem to go straight to your sex life. There's so much more to any relationship.
Would you guys be willing to talk more about your rough patch? I feel like a lot of newly poly relationships go through it and don’t know how to handle it.
We're figuring out now how much we're comfortable sharing about that time! It would be it's own video though!
@@3Mountains0 rock on 💕 thank you for whatever you’re comfortable sharing!!!!

I (Maggie) relate to this deeply.

That's wonderful!

All love for polyam people over-concerned for their partner's emotional comfort!

That's something I (Maggie) would have completely ignored in college as well.

Cats are such dicks. But also we couldn't live without them!
@@3Mountains0 Agreed! 100%

Nooooooooo. How disappointing!!!

We fight for the privilege of sleeping alone some nights!! It's just a better night's sleep!
My fiancé and I sleep in separate beds. I snore horribly and he is a super light sleeper!! All for not sleeping together if it helps everyone get enough sleep!
Sleep is so important!! Cody is also a snorer in allergy season!

Oh my god! I feel like that happens surprisingly often? Like they want to be as close to the person they trust as possible?
I love this!
Cody is correct, we do come for the bullshit 🤣
You bought a house that is a to do list :)
True!

I've (Maggie) done the twin bed thing. It's rough.
Sometimes alone
🙃

Oh no!

Yes! I (Maggie) always ask monogamous people who question us about our sex lives whether their relationships revolve around sex.
