    My husband and I attended philippineFest in tampa last weekend.
    We ate alot there . Lechon rice, isaw,halo halo, sapin sapin, ube brownie, got some souvenirs too.

    Filipino food has so many inspired food other than the original that its nice to see them. like chinese, japanese, spanish, mexico and many more. I was just getting hungry seeing all the food.

    I hope to see Zul Cafe and Grill from Norwalk, CT there next year. I went there and had the best food.

    When ist the Pilipino festival in NYC? Meron ba din sa California Kuya? I'm Salud from Germany. I've been visiting LA every year during my holiday vacation sa wrk. Miss ko na ang pilipino foods wala kami dito sa Germany

      Actually, it's the fault of the parents for not teaching them. And this is actually prevalent. In our family, my parents only spoke English to my sister growing up in the States, but I only talked to her in Tagalog. I already warned them that they would regret it later for not teaching her, now that she's all grown up she blames them for not teaching her. Too bad I only stayed with her for 1 year as I had to move to another state; I would have really taught her if I stayed longer. Mahirap i-convince ang magulang na kausapin nila ang anak nila in Tagalog. Sabi ko yung mga kaibigan kong Chinese, sa bahay nila Chinese (Mandarin) ang usapan; sa Filipino household, English pa rin ang usapan.

    Too bad to see that most of the Fried Foods they served are over Cooked even the Chicken Inasal looks like they cook it on a Mekos Mekos way! Sunog Sunog kasi, I think the sisig is the winner of all the food and the Halo Halo. Their Lechon doesn’t looks attractive at all coz its not done the proper way the lechon supposed to be.

    Are they really ube? Don't be fooled, it's purple yam ( kamote na purple color) the others are coloring. Ube is a big root crop 10x or bigger than a purple yam.

      most of ube items in Philippines just use artificial flavoring. Ube is expensive and is now often exported.
