Acessports for GD's are really more of an American thing. COBB doesn't support the GD model in Australia. I'd also say most, if not everyone in Australia largely prefers pro tunes rather than shit OTS tunes.
Subaru has always been my favorite car company, been a dream of mine to get a WRX and do it up as a kinda rally car, something I can rip around for fun on the weekends on gravel and back roads, great review as always 🤙
I own a 2005 sti, the last Blobeye and feel like the 05 is the ultimate blobeye with the 5114 bolt pattern, updated interior, driver control centre diff and widebody rear!

How much do you think a blobeye like this one with low mileage cost nowadays? This is a dream car of mine and I really hope it will be available without an absurd price by the time I’m able to get a car. (5ish years)
I had an 04 sti stolen while working out of town. I miss that car 10 years later. I would 100% still be driving it if it weren't for the assholes that took it.

I have a dandelion yellow EVO V and a Java black pearl blobeye don't plan on selling either. The blobeye has fully worked engine, closed block etc on E85 and does 33 litres to 100 kms!!! so not driven much, a bit scary really. It's as clean as this one too. I'm 77...... so never to old.

Very nice car. Love the rexy content recently . Can you feature more rexys in future, particularly gc8 rexys and gc8 stis 2door and 4 door etc. Also more s14 ,s15, gtir, 180sx, r32 gtrs ,vl turbos etc for the generation that grew up with these cars.

Completely agree, although I would never choose a my15 + over the my97-06. I personally own a gc8 and I reckon the price makes up for the nostalgia even though the increase was because of covid 😅
I’ve had 4 My00 wrxs including 2 Australian delivered version 6 sti and I loved them but there’s no way I’d pay today’s prices and I would go for the newer car with all the creature comforts
As someone once said the EVO drives itself, while the Subaru needs to be grabbed by the scruff of it's neck, which makes them perhaps more fun to drive. Mine doesn't like motorways, but loves the back roads.
What an incredible example. I personally love the hawkeye the most, but there's no getting away from how great the blobeye is too; especially one like this. Out of curiosity, have you driven the current STi in standard form? Has it lost much in terms of fun and/or feel compared to this generation?
So much love these early STI’s!😍 I briefly go over it in this video towards the end but in my opinion the current MY15+ STI has certainly become a lot more sterile and tame. Much of sensation or what I would call ‘magic’ has been diluted in favour of refinement however it still makes for a fun ride and an epic daily nonetheless.
Just something to note, the ej207 doesn't have a proper forged bottom end, they're great and they hold a bit of power but not as much as proper aftermarket rods/pistons
Yes they do. Although JDM cars were switched to hypereutectic pistons in the version 8 sti, the Australian and UK delivered ej207 (sti) cars continued to have forged internals all the way until the ej257 superseded it. You can even buy a brand new oem version 8 short block direct from Subaru which comes with forged internals. Which i opted to do instead of rebuilding my 207. It's been running 25psi for the last 4 years without any issues.

Only Bugeye STI also known as the V7 STi came with Forged factory piston not the Blobeye " Version 8 sti " although the blob looks sexier ! From Bugeye , Blobeye , Hawkeye the Bug and Hawk have the best reliable engine not the Version 8 sti " blobeye "

Everything is slightly different inside the V8 sti had a nitrated crankshaft but not the V7 or V9 STI currently have 4 STI at my garage 2 V7 sti and 1 V8 sti and 1 V9 sti

Going to be a bit of a budget build for track purposes. Currently makes a healthy 270 ATW/350 NM with essentially full STI bolt ons on a EJ205. A hell of a lot of fun as it sits so I'm not fussed.
Im an Evo owner/fan and also think that’s the best looking STI out there. Definitely a beauty

I have a classic gc8 my dream car from 1994, but I am now starting to appreciate the Bug eye, Blob eye and Hawkeye versions.

They have a forged crank, pistons and rods. Pre 2005 ej207 can easily handle 425+whp

bug eye, blob eye and hawk eye are all 2nd generation, just with facelifts.
This is the 3rd generation not the second smh

I disagree with the comment of fitting 5 tall people in it. I’m 6 foot tall and do not fit in the back of my GD Hawkeye STI. The leg room is tiny.
How's the drivers seat for room? I'm really used to my FG xr6 and it's massive interior, but the WRX is looking awful tempting.
Bug eye is the best.
WRX too slow out of the gears. Struggled to overtake a Toyota taxi 0-60km/hr when I pressured her.

no airflow blocking, just supertone hella horns
The blobyeye did not have forged internals from factory, it was the bugeye. The blobeye (onwards) only had cast pistons.
How do I stop the head gasket problem? Is there an aftermarket head gasket I can get for the Impreza that doesn’t wear out?

It's a JDM Ver 8 so it would have had a EJ207 with a twinscroll turbo. Only the non-JDM STIs of that age had hypereutectic pistons instead of forged.
