Thanks man, you are a real life saver. I found it was pretty difficult to get the stitch lengths to match by moving the dots around. What ended up working for me was putting the machine on 10 and the hand bar up then pushing the "disconnected dot" as high as it would go. I call it the "disconnected dot" because the other one moves with the bar even when the screw is loosened.
I just purchased this machine used and noticed the problem you addressed in this video. I know the machine works, but I wanted to learn as much as I can before I try to use it. I am sure it will need attention, so making sure it functions properly first is important. It is a marvel to see all that went into the design and construction of this machine. You can see the quality of it's parent company Seiko in it s watch like precision. Great video and thanks for taking the time to share. Any other reviews and or instructions would be appreciated. Great video! I was having the same issue with my reverse stitch length, but my 206 is stacking stitches perfectly after watching this and tinkering for about 20 minutes. Thank you for sharing!!!
hey Mr Ben, thanks for the video. I just got the same machine from a storage room salvager .. The stitch length knob was shattered and it was nice to have a little guidance in the install of the new parts. Machine sews great and looks new .. probably some sad story somewhere but a happy ending for me.. Happy Day .. Lee in Florida

Thanks for the video. I have the same machine new out of the box. Figured out how to put it together correctly, they don't provide any instructions. My stitch length knob wouldn't go below 3. I thought my stitch length was pretty close though but maybe not perfect. I decided to try just adjusting the knob before taking any screws loose inside the machine. I turned it down as far as I could and there was no travel in the lever. Then I loosened the screw holding the knob until it turned freely and turned it until it hit the stop at about 0. Tightened it up and checked to see if it would go to 10 which it does and my stitch length also appeared to increase over the previous "10" setting. I think she's fixed! I live on the outer coast of Alaska. There is no place that can fix my machine. If I can't do it it most likely can't be done. With your help it got done this time. THANKS!

My machine seems to be 180 it wants to sew in reverse and when you put the reverse leaver down it sews forward

Yes, they come as a set and you replace both the inner and outer foot (since the needle passes through the inner foot).
