Mark... :).. he had so much energy and enthusiasm. Only he could've portrayed the above character and the whacky madcap needed. Such a sad loss. Rip Mark.

This was a little after my time and I can remember seeing Mark a few times on TV and feeling irritate by him. I can't think why, and watching this now its clear how talented he was, and he fit perfectly with the likes of the never-ageing Lost Boy, Andy Peters and the nations best ventriloquist Matthew Corbett. I do remember seeing the first news reports of his disappearance and really feeling for him at the time, and the tragedy that unfolded really stuck with me, as I'm sure it did for so many. I get the impression his best work was likely just around the corner and he probably would have become one of those hugely influential TV personalities that defined their generation.

Mark Speight was great and that suit he wore is kinda burned into my brain haha. he was a great presenter and later as a artist for Smart too. now that CITV is now a thing of the distant past, this is why youtube is a good time capsule for such things.
i can't believe Elliot was only 6 when he played Reg !.I always thought he was abit older, like about 10 years old or something. It's clever how he acted like Reg at such a young age !.Well he's 6 on this clip, he was 5 when the show started.

Every saturday id be over my nans watching this, then as soon as they put animaniacs on my grandad would come in and demand i go out for a walk with him, same bloody time every week!
he more funny when he in red and white striped box and had weird funny hair cool funny special effects like make drink out of his ear or his eyes pop out
At what point did this show stop being a trippy nonsensical Max Headroom pisstake and turn into a slightly random chat-show-plus-the-odd-cartoon format? It just wasn't the same without the talking football and Scratchy's rubber wig.

Mark was such a naturally funny guy with immense talent. Such a very sad end for someone who was most definitely going to be so successful.

I assume the producers ran out of ideas for it really quickly..... which didn't matter because it was going to be swallowed up by SMTV by 1998.
