@@adrianadamowicz8395 as a huge Dels fan since 1990 (I was 16 at the time) I wish that were true! I mean, I'd say they were widely known and had pretty good credibility, and a hatful ;) of Top 20 UK hits in the 90s - none of which quite made the Top 10 as I recall - but I wouldn't say they were massive. But like pretty much everyone else on here, (except JC himself, maybe :P) I heartily believe they deserved to be! :D
saw them at the Perth Concert Hall in early 90's would give anything to see them again. still the best concert ever. they were the best, still the biggest fan. 66 now the only band i ever want to see again. love the new album. well done guys. you are still my #1
+Sir Winston Lennon Just to add, I actually found out a while ago that they released their first album in 1985 simply titled Del Amitri. It was reissued on cd back in the early 00's.
I made myself a couple of t shirts with 'Infidel' on the front and 'Popstar' on the back. I LOVE this song. And everything del Amitri did. And everything that Justin does on his own. (Must be about time for a new album) Great voice, great lyrics.
LYRICS: Everybody in the fun house Says they want out But we're taking our time 'cos we're in love with time Whole generations thinking of themselves As infidels and pop stars While the bomb loses patience We line up and just lean against the bar Stone cold sober, looking for bottles of love. Caught in the headlights Wide-eyed and ready to receive We are the dead life Locked in dogfights, lost in disbelief And these dark days Make the nights seem brighter than they are So while fleet street rolls and the moon glows In the fun house the fun starts Stone cold sober, looking for bottles of love. Born in the half-light Of threats and bribes In a hopeless porn parade We get the dog's life, tidbits train us What to wear, what not to say When you're footloose but you just feel limbless Life gets in the way So we get loaded or totally legless But stay the same Stone cold sober, looking for bottles of love.
Superb number from a classic album. Bought the album on vinyl back in the early 90's. Had never heard of them before and was well impressed by the quality of songwriting and musicianship. Their first album was actually released way back in 1985 but didn't make any headway commercially.
You guys really did a fantastic work with this song second by second it just gets better. I am really a huge fan. My father showed me your album A hat fukk of rain when I was a child, and this song have always been my favorite and will always be integrated in my mind. Even though I listen to YMCMB, 69 etc. You guys really are at the same lv. I don't understand why you aren't just as famous
5 years ago, What the really fu$k, Play on Guys, Seen Yous back in the the day when loads of people left to rave and i told ya to not worry just keep playing, It was a class night
Love Band and the Song but why didn't they feature Iain playing the fantastic guitar parts in the video and show buildings instead. Frustrating to watch as he is genius guitarist. Live it is like watching duelling Guitars - fantastic
I still can't understand why this band didn't become huge, some of the best crafted music and lyrics ever.
spunkbobfartpants I totally agree
me too. i have seen them a few times and they are awesome
They were pretty massive in the UK apparently during the 80s and 90s. (I was too young!)

I'll be 73 soon and still love this band!
Iain Harvie. One of the great unsung guitarists.
I'm 67 and still in love with Justin after seeing him at the Barrowlands. The best songs ever.😘
One of the coolest songs ever written.
One of the best pop songs ever. We did everything to make this as big as they deserved. Only timing and bad luck let us fail.
What a great debut album...every song a killer!
+Sir Winston Lennon Still have the vinyl from 1989/90. Well crafted songs. Good time for Scottish bands back then.

ye belter of an album waking hours proper lyrics real life
For years I used to think I was in a minority of one when it came to my worship of this band. I can see I'm not alone here.
It was their second album.
My all time favourite Del Amitri song. Saw them in Berlin in the 90s, they were fantastic.
Why the f*ck doesn't this have a million views?
Under rated band

I love this song!! Glad they are back.. Tickets on sale Friday! let's have it!!
A timeless '80s' band. Phenomenal!
And 90's
Love this, my introduction to DA 30 years ago and still awesome
just playing this to share the lyrics with someone.
why do modern pop songs have horrendous repetitive lyrics
Because they are shallow.
Because they are over-managed over-produced and under-talented. They lack any language skill, and soon will be singing emojis :)
