Wow, thank you for this video. What would you recommend when flying with children regarding direct flight or layover? Was emirates comfortable? Anything we should bring for extra comfort? We're not flyers lol. We have a 14, 10 and 5 year old. Thank you again.
Hi, we try to limit layovers. So as little flight segments as possible. Emirates was very comfortable and they provide complimentary alcoholic beverages and plenty of food and snacks. I always bring a blanket and pillow and make sure to have on comfortable shoes that can easily slip on and off. For such a lengthy flight, have have on comfy socks in my seat but want to slip in my shoes when walking around the plane and when going to the bathroom.
Great video!! Currently planning a trip for April to Maldives. Definitely adding in Dubai for a 2 to 3 days. What area in Dubai would you recommend to stay at? How far is Adu Dhabi? Did you buy your garment for the mosque there? New subbie thanks again!!!
Hi! We didn’t put too much thought into finding the perfect location in Dubai since our main focus for this trip was Maldives. So we opted for a hotel that was centrally located and at a good rate. You will see that hotel in our first Dubai vlog. Abu Dhabi was about an hour ride from Dubai. We booked an excursion and rode a shuttle bus with AC to various spots in Abu Dhabi (we have a vlog for Abu Dhabi too). In regards to a garment for the mosque. I made sure to pack a long dress and a half large scarf to cover my arms and head; however, I didn’t end up using my scarf because our tour guide from the shuttle tour company we used had garments available for all of the women on the bus before we got off at the mosque. At the mosque they also have a gift shop where you can purchase garments.
The Forrester Chronicles thank you for responding!!😊
Hi there thank you for this video and all the information provided. Although, can you please tell me a little bit of how the stopover works? I would love to do Maldives and Dubai as well, so how do you book that together? Also, for Dubai, I'm also married, do I have to take proof of our marriage? thank you!
We used the website flightdeals.com. The flight allowed a max of 5 days for a stopover between flight. That did include i think a $100 fee per ticket but i think it’s worth it.
No you don’t have to show proof of marriage
Thank you for doing this Ive really been wanting to plan trips like this but honestly I was just telling my husband where do we even start? 😩
Hey guys, thanks for sharing all these helpful tips. I am planning a trip next year in late Jan going in to Feb. I've been doing A LOT of research to prepare myself and I have a question regarding the cell phone coverage there. How was it for you guys? I've never traveled to another country before, in general, so I'm not sure what to expect and if to just look in to an international plan with my service provider or do a local plan/sim card when I get to Dubai. Don't want to get blown up with a lot of fees abroad, ya know? Thanks
Hi there! Thanks for watching and commenting. We typically turn our phone on airplane mode once we land on the airplane and it stays on airplane mode until we return to the USA. We use WiFi to communicate while abroad. We chose hotels that offer free WiFi and there are often many restaurants and shops that offer free WiFi to guests. So when we are traveling, we don’t use our phones to text, talk, video chat, or go on social media until we return back to our hotel room or somewhere else with WiFi. A lot of people use WhatsApp to communicate as well. Some people get SIM cards etc; however, we never do as we enjoy the time away from our phones while we are out exploring and we can reconnect with folks back when we are relaxing in the room.
Gotcha! Never really thought of it that way too. Wouldn't want to get caught up on my phone too much and miss out on the moments. Thanks again!
How was the gold prices?
+Teresa B not sure, we didn't purchase any
Sorry but they do drink.
Carolyn Gardner we are speaking of the customs. The Muslim citizens of UAE are not supposed to consume alcohol. That does not mean that some don't and chose to break that law. We stated in the video that they are not supposed to drink. What people are supposed to do and what some decide to do are not always the same. Thanks for watching
The Forrester Chronicles Since i work with them i can't tell you some story that will make your skin crawl. granted in your comments. i make a lot of $$$$working with this people.
