Dr. Paul Parks, and the AMA, are doing great work to correct the malaise, that is Alberta Health. Wish them good luck. This was a great interview, and thank you to Dr. Parks, for giving us his valuable time. Hope the government of Alberta acts quickly and decisively, on the plans handed over to them’
Please interview Heather Smith UNA to also get the nursing perspective. Anyone in healthcare knows long term care beds and investing in family drs is the key to fixing the system. It has never changed
I work as a hospital volunteer. It’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. If you want to help there’s lots of jobs for any skill set. Highly recommend!
Horrifying how my partner lives in denial of his poor mental health cognitive issues sleep apnea, anger issues problems slow speech all boxes tick off for narcissistic personality disorder compulsive liar addiction problems on and on arthritis pain in hips and poor driving skills forgetting to turn on signals look in mirrors watch for people crossing streets many close calls many times l experience as a Az driver witnessing dangerous driving with my partner. Yet doctor threatening to call police reporting my partners poor mental health. Horrifying me to see how doctors are lying about dangerous patients. What a nightmare with corrupt doctors.
I managed to get 18 minutes in. This guy is so obviously making it about politics.... his statement about how it's been steadily declining for 25 years with a bit of a reversal in the 2010s (what a surprise) won't ring true for anybody who lived through it. The noticeable decline for patients has been in the last 10 to 15 years... at no point was there a point where we felt it was getting better (not even from 2015-19). And I am reasonably confident that he didn't bring up that healthcare across Canada is failing unilaterally... if it was mentioned then kudos to Ryan.
Of course I care! It's troubling that more people were outraged by my straight-shooting assessment of what's happening than the fact Canadians are looking at 18-month wait times for MRIs! Really appreciate you checking out the show. -rpj
Having this discussion with Dr Parks exclusively puts one in mind of the old Chomsky quote when talking to BBC interviewer Andrew Marr "I'm sure you believe everything you say. But what I'm saying is if you believed something different you wouldn't be sitting where you're sitting." A wider conversation on this issue with more voices & perspectives presented is a matter of vital importance

Private is better.
@@rockon8174So, you can't even vote, and you are trolling.
Way better!!
Alberta still hasn't recovered from Ralph Klein's senseless cuts to the public healthcare. The UCP are making things worse.
🙄🙄🙄🙄
@rockon8174 I see. Rock On can't even vote, is trolling, and can't understand the factual comment that I posted 6 days ago.

My sister fell down the stairs. It was an hour before EMS arrived. She passed 30 hours later.
I'm just sorry. Things shouldn't be this way at all.
So sorry to hear that. -rpj
The doc sounds like a solid alberta boy. I can only imagine how bad the administration is overseeing these complex systems.

Ryan I sure hope what he said sinks in. Deeply. I believe that you care. 😊
