I tested what @TheDarkSined said. and the barn shown in (3:46) indeed only accepts grass and hay in lose form (no bales). This means you are going to need a forage wagon to feed sheep and goats in this barn.
Can't feed bales on that barn. Don't know if it is a bug or nog but you can feed loose hay or grass. You can put bales in a hay loft, drive a trailer under it and get loose hay or just harvest hay with a loading wagon. @@fabiankopsel8884
So technically if you have one of the more expensive sheep barns you dont have to do jack as long as you have a meadow? Will they still go up to 100% health and just live of the meadow grass?

The only one for me they took (3:46) was in loose form (so no Balles). With the pick up trailers.

Yes they will
Made my starter farm close to the rope factory and started doing cotton. Once i get a pasture down its going to be crazy.
