For what it’s worth, the 1.0 version of this tire which came out about a year ago is still the best tire I’ve ever ran on an SCX24. Obviously they’ve scaled up that performance. What an impressive tire/insert combo!
oh yeah. HOORAY pooch tires is great to see, soft light like always. 17:32 contrast change amazing, into the change to other camera both look better then first part. Pushing towards compy level forward grip :) this rig weight looks like it might actually like soft on rear as well for everything but sidehill. tires/inserts deserving of a light weight rig (sub 5lb portal rig) 1 wide wrap sidewall or both sidewalls and contact patch of poly on a cut soft should fill other tires better.
Excellent video.. I have a TRX-4 Sport (3 years), with about 1 hour run time on the back lawn.. Weights just a tad under 7 lbs with the stock tires and wheels.. Time to get more serious so I ordered the "green" inserts, along with the "comp pins" and some metal wheels. Also ordered a Fusion SE 1800 kv. and a metal servo on axle adapter.. Gonna try with the stock servo if it needs upgrade then I will get one.. I may also order the under-drive ring and pinion before spring.. Hoping all goes well with some good results.. They are building an indoor crawling facility just down the street so that will be nice during the winter months..
agreed, though might even have to go softer as they have a little more tread thickness and thinking a little more sidewall thickness compared to the inpins
I'm just waiting on my inserts and I have the tires already. Looks lIke I will be modifying my inserts before I even run them as I will need them softer in my 6lb trucks. Thanks for the tip and this modification is seemingly the way to go.

Don't get used to it, I guess-- there's an upcoming video where I (apparently) hit record on angle 2 with my arm or something, then when I started primary recording, I hit the button again so the camera was off for the entire session. Very on brand.

It's great to see this much performance out of a combo at any price range, and even better considering the cost. I might be alone here, but if you're getting moist 'cause a pin tire shows the most forward grip I'd just say, "yeah, that's the whole point of them". They are typically reserved for the most capable rigs and are banned by SORRCA except unlimited classes or whatever. Now, if they do the same magic to a non-Injora tire like the Tusk or KLRM, then we're cookin' with gas. Love the content.
Just received my Blue silicone inserts Saturday (Happy New Year! BTW) I of course ordered them 3 days before the Green inserts were made available. Just finished my first “soft”. Thanks again for the informative pseudoscience! 👍🏼

If your testing for most capable tire? Your head to head testing should include these inserts with other tires. Great video and now I must go spend more money once again do to your FN videos.
Just when you think the insert/tire combination can't get any better, you manage to pull it off. Once again I am really impressed with how these Injora inserts are performing. Dare we ask if it's possible to improve it any further? It's really interesting to see you doing this cut modification to this insert. In the testing I did to develop my own inserts, I hit upon this offset vertical rib design type as well. You get better conformity and better overall ground pressure, much better flexibility and evenness in how the insert and tire work together, assuming there are concentric rings in the insert design, if the vertical ribs are staggered. In some of my testing, I even staggered them across the width of the insert as well, which had an interesting effect of its own. What I discovered, and had a lot of trouble overcoming, is the notching/stepping/ratcheting effect you get with the remaining ribs in the outermost ring of the tire, where they apply uneven ground pressure when the tire slips on hard and uneven obstacles. It exacerbates wheel hop and reduces traction. This is an issue I worked really hard to resolve in my own project. The goal is even ground pressure, good compliance and flexibility with a variable rate of compression, excellent sidewall support and as little sidewall collapse as possible when sidehilling. That's a tall order for any insert. Ultimately I did not use this kind of design in my final prototype, but I did do significant design testing with it before eventually selecting another design. This was a very promising idea, though. it's really exciting to see it working so well in these Injoras.
I call that hop the "tuning rod effect," which is only avoidable with 3BRC by... not putting any tuning rods in. My only worry here is that this insert and tire are "too perfect," and the cut blues will do "okay" in anything else. This is why I stick to my homebrew dual stages for most everything, as they fit any tire, work in any conditions, and have no possibility of that notching.
I have a hard body phoenix Has brass inner clamping rings Hub weights and brass hubs And is running steel bumpers and sliders and bed cage with full heavy interior And it sits at about 9-10 lbs

I tried out this combo over the weekend with a new set of Fusks and blue silicone inserts. They don't fit perfectly as the inserts don't completely fill out the tire. That said, grip and stability are high, but I will have to try trim the inserts as they have a good amount of bounce.

I believe that's one of the hardest pull-ups you could do is if you're really vertical and you got your front tires over a ledge and your rear tires are under ledge it's like the hardest thing to get over not considering the breakover angle also but just the way the tires are setting you're setting perfectly in the wheelbase you know
This combo is absurd, how can it be sooo gooood. Now I want to have a rig ("comp looking") specifically to run this combo (im not a fan of comp pins on a full fender truck, and unluckily I dont have +20 rigs🤣)
Hello, can you please tell me the with of your 1.9 wheels you are using. I do not want the inserts to slide around inside...thank you for your very informative videos 👌👍
I've tested the Injora silicone on both 24mm and 21mm wide beadlock rings. Seems to be about the same either way. Should be less chance of sliding on the 21s, though.
Okay. So how do the tires compare with HP rovers? Or the non-crawler tires we were having an existential crisis over? How do I get a set of those extended rear links for my SE? I can't make some don't have the equipment. Does it it get hung up more with longer wheel base?
The Rover is such an absolute oddball-- the 1.9 is ridiculously small, and the 2.2 is a beach ball. The number of rigs that either of them are usable on is pretty small. I like tires like the Rover, Rupture, etc. well enough, but generally prefer a tire that I can use on anything. The grip and control out of the Injora combo is truly remarkable for how simple the tire is. I'll get measurements for what rear links you can use. Mine are just borrowed from other rigs (like I"m pretty sure the rear lowers are from a TRX-4 Defender)
@@CrawlerCanyon you're awesome! thank you. I'm going to go back and see the other videos about baseline you made. I don't think an rtr should really be more than 250 and the ascent debacle had me looking elsewhere.
I believe I've read the rear link lengths from the Knight Runner will work since it comes out of the box at 12.8" / 323mm wheelbase. I'd bet the link lengths in the rear are almost perfectly 10mm longer on the Knight Runner when compared to a Sender HD. I've leaned on Element instruction manuals to get link lengths in the past, those might help with exact measurements to order. Alternatively, I think Hardcore RC Links may sell a replacement kit in the 12.8 wheelbase. Might be worth checking and reaching out
@@CrawlerCanyon I end up on a bit of everything (dirt, fine gravel, clay, smooth rock to volcanic rock) but I guess 70% would be in shady, often slightly damp bush tackling natural dirt climbs with a smattering of loose leaves on top.
@@HRDNTS I wouldn't say this is the tire for that. You're going to want a more "all-around" tire, and anything with a mini pin is going to be pretty much for dedicated rock crawling.
I think I’d rather buy the blues and tweak them like u did to make them fit a rig. Rather than buy a softer pair and then have less options 🤷🏼. Great video
I got the Injora Pro Comp tires and the Injora Silicone (green) incserts. My TRX4 Sport weights 7.75 lbs.. When sitting the front tires squat and have a 2 inch contact of tread to surface.. My question is - do you think the inserts are too soft and offer too much squat..?
Your weight is pretty far past the weight for the greens-- you're kinda in the spot for the blues, which do great on rigs in the 7 pound area. The rig I'm having great success with the greens (in Megalithics) is under 6lbs.
Without even watching I can tell you now I feel like these tires are going to hook up like no tomorrow because how good they already done and then you put a killer ass insert in them they're really going to get with it
You could actually maybe get up a rock on the uncut inserts and no tires. They'd be firm enough, but I think the silicone would take a real beating from anything abrasive.
Oh, they would absolutely rattle around in the Trepadors. Probably 5-6mm too short and 8-10mm too narrow. The Treps will be getting a new insert, I just can't imagine it being these.
I would assume for heavier rigs...use the red inserts and perform surgery as described by our fearless leader. One bay at a time until the magic happens. Only wish Injora would make these for CT's.
Why would you trim it at the wheel instead of at the tread? Seems like trimming the outer ribs would be more effective than trimming the inner most ribs. I don’t want the tire collapsing at the wheel instead of the tread area.
Because the innermost ribs are spaced most closely together. And trust me-- it's not going to collapse. The middle ring is overly stiff, even with half the ribs cut out.
Have you lost any of the pins yet? I’ve only ran these tires twice, all low speed/no beans, and I just noticed I’m already starting to lose a couple pins. As a whole, they seem stout, but apparently individually they can straight up leave the chat pretty easily.
yeah everyone builds different but definitely i like under 2.3kg if possible. but companies make money selling shiny brass LOL so kind of pushed to purchase it in a way.
That is huge to say that they're better than the test cuz that's everybody talks about that tire you know and like I don't know I've seen you run the test and I've seen you run these I think these are better you know I've seen a lot of tires pull over the Slick Rock but these just drove over it like it wasn't even there and then like the Montana thing that's huge you can tell by looking at the front end of the truck just how tall it is
Not if you flip the bird to the “industry”. It’s the very reason I consider myself a free crawler. No group of bought and paid for goobers is going to tell me what I and can’t use on my rig to accomplish my goals. 😎
In a video with a 36m56s runtime, there is a total of 1m15.4s of audio slightly de-sync'd (usually 4ms, due to the two microphones being apparently being that far apart.) If everyone is bothered by it, I can go back to single camera and the problem is solved.
Just doing another video on these and I am mentioning you and the Canyon and this hack, oh and the Redcat Accent. A British RUclips influencer has just said "The Redcat Accent may be the best crawler of 2023" Well, I was not going to let that stand! Full details on the video I will upload tomorrow.
Not sure why you took out the inner ribbing, there is a reason dual stage foams has a closed inner cell... removing the inner ribs will make it perform like stock, your front grip is not that good. what works is the cheat pin type tires your using.

Sorry I’m late Exocage is live
BEAST👽👊....KAPLAH!!!
Have you lost any of the pins yet? I’ve only ran these tires twice, all low speed/no beans, and I just noticed I’m already starting to lose a couple pins. As a whole, they seem stout, but apparently individually they can straight up leave the chat pretty easily.
just curious what weight is the rig ? and dig rig ?
No lost pins yet, at least not that I've seen.
So, you're saying this won't work well for my 3.4LB Mini Comp Crawler on 1.9's?
Cut half the ribs out of all three rings and... maybe. But they'd likely still be too stiff.
That's exactly what I said Orange
All my lcg's are like 2.2 kg to 2.5kg , must be a lot of brass to reach 4kg
yeah everyone builds different but definitely i like under 2.3kg if possible. but companies make money selling shiny brass LOL so kind of pushed to purchase it in a way.
You can buy a set of axle housings on Amazon that weigh 1.4kg. So yeah, it's pretty easy to throw weight on.
@@CrawlerCanyon now there is a green compound for 2-3 kg cars...saw it today on aliexpress😀
That is huge to say that they're better than the test cuz that's everybody talks about that tire you know and like I don't know I've seen you run the test and I've seen you run these I think these are better you know I've seen a lot of tires pull over the Slick Rock but these just drove over it like it wasn't even there and then like the Montana thing that's huge you can tell by looking at the front end of the truck just how tall it is
Tusks with these pls..
Better than ruptures?
I think there's more grip in a Rupture, but only just. And I'd say the Pro Comp has it's own advantage in that you can fit them on most anything.
Not if you flip the bird to the “industry”. It’s the very reason I consider myself a free crawler. No group of bought and paid for goobers is going to tell me what I and can’t use on my rig to accomplish my goals. 😎
What just happened to the audio it's like 3/4 of the way through the video and the audio just started like huge Echo
If it had been released in 1973 it wouldn't even be the best crawler of the year.
😄😄😄@@CrawlerCanyon
Not sure why you took out the inner ribbing, there is a reason dual stage foams has a closed inner cell... removing the inner ribs will make it perform like stock, your front grip is not that good. what works is the cheat pin type tires your using.
Sounds like a statement make by someone who has never laid hands on the inserts. Or didn't watch the whole video. Or maybe both.
@@CrawlerCanyon ...or maybe I could be someone who's been building DIY crawlers since 2005 and has been actively competing again since 2017... you never know.
Would u be interested in inserts I’ve been selling them like crazy in the last month
Can I have them for Xmas please 🙏😂🎉
Issmssd. Lol. You crack me up
Purple…I say purple
