I'm glad that Bruce and Tom Prichard finally reconciled. For a long time, there was serious tension between the two of them, but they've both matured and mellowed out with age.
The territory days were amazing. A guy would work in one territory until his gimmick got stale, then he went to work in another territory where he was fresh and exciting to a whole new audience. Then, if circumstances permitted, he would return to a territory he worked at earlier, and audiences would be excited to have him all over again.
Brody pissed off promoters but he messed with the wrong one in his backyard. Big mistake. "Never been a horse that can't be rode, never been a cowboy who can't be throwed."
Thats not why brody was murdered he was murdered cause he bought in to the territory and they owed him 40000 and brody wanted his money they ( owed him ) and they didn't have it so they murdered him. Plain and Simple!!!
I don't know if anyone else knows about this. There is a video of Gary Hart saying that Houston didn't have their own talent and he was the matchmaker for the NWA. The Dallas office supplied the talent. So my question is how is Tully the booker if according to Gary Hart he did the booking for the Houston territory.
Gary was the matchmaker/booker during that period for Big Time Wrestling, the incorporated name for what was known and promoted as World Class in the arenas and on Television. Paul Boesch ran one city, Houston on Friday nights and they did book their talent through the Dallas office (Big Time) and also flew in talent from other territories. Paul and Gary didn't get along. Paul's relationship with Fritz's frayed in the early 80's when Fritz applied for a Houston business license to promote wrestling. Paul took this as Fritz meaning to tying to steal his town and severed their business relationship and partnered with Joe Blanchard and and his promotion. Wahoo McDaniel was Blanchard's booker at the time and was a huge draw in Houston which helped to initiate the relationship. This lasted until Blanchard's business steadily receded and Boesch booked his talent through Bill Watts starting in 1984.
To elucidate. There were promotions and promoters and there were booking offices. Paul Boesch was a promoter. He had his own TV but only ran the one town and needed talent from a booking office/territory. An example the Culkins promoted in Mississippi but they got their talent from usually from their relationship with Bill Watts booking office out of Tulsa (Mid South). In St Louis Sam Muchnick had his own TV and was the promoter but he only ran that town and flew in talent and supplemented it through his association with the Kansas City booking office (Heartland Wrestling).
Bruiser Brody screwed over a lot of promoters and he developed a reputation for deliberately working sloppy. Brody was a selfish prick who only cared about himself.
@@southtxroughneck113 What does Brody being "over" have to do with him screwing over promoters? The point is, that Brody was extremely selfish and toxic to the promotions that he worked for. He made the jobbers look worse than they needed to, which cost them jobs, because the promotions assumed that they couldn't work, due to Brody's in-ring shenanigans.
I have heard 10 different wrestlers talk about Bruiser Brody screwing over promoters. Based on everything I've heard, Brody was not the most pleasant person to be around. Not only did he screw over promoters, he was also prone to "skipping out on the bill" at restaurants.
For over 30 years I've heard Brody stories and it's always him being a POS , usually a whiny POS. Why does the majority, under 35, who have never watched one match of his, gush over him in the comments? I can't comprehend having an emotional connection with a guy I don't know, never even met completely based on the way he died. Dude was a douchebag and a bully, which you guys lose your minds over until it's no longer convenient and holds zero SM value.
It's the same thing in basketball. You have all these people more than 50 and under always throwing Bill Russell and wilt chamberlain in their lists of the best players ever yet none of them saw those guys play. They weren't even born yet or were toddlers. Theres barely any tapes of them playing.
Between Jim & Bruce the amount of knowledge & work they’ve contributed to the business is unrivaled 🔥😤

One of them is a complete bullshitter
Nothing better than listening to two old territory guys. Telling stories from the old days of wrestling. Far more interesting than the garbage today.

Yes Gary was the booker in Dallas office from 1976 to the end of 1982 booking the talent for Houston and San Antonio.
A video that should have been titled "It Can Always Get Worse."

@@matthewthomas9194 Brody threatened the promoters and you just don't do that in Puerto Rico.
These two guys should have a regular podcast.
Bruce was so DIFFERENT from Brother Love!!!😅
Why are you even mentioning brother love? He was a sick perverted preacher, Mr Prichard is a good dude
@@thecatwrangler9448I’m mentioning it cuz he did such a great job with that over the top character! What’s wrong with that???😊

Easy. Bruce Prichard lies to protect his buddy’s in the business.

2 total Wrestling nerds.
My two favorite fat out of shape guys in wrestling. I mean that with all sincerity. I love them both.
Brody sounds like a big baby who only got work because he was giant and could move.

Brody was way over though. Everywhere.
Promoters nightmare
