There was a known pressurization issue on the 737 max 9. That’s why it’s was not ETOPS certified. They allowed them continued to fly it regardless! This is a major failure of the FAA and Boeing all over again. We need to hold them accountable.
Yes previous pressurization issues on this particular aircraft, not all MAX 9's.
@@thud9797 you’re are dreaming if you think this pressurization issue is limited to one aircraft
@@tedstriker6743
Ok we'll see, Icelandair flies them daily to the USA multiple cities so hope no issues.
Happy to hear everyone is ok

1989 was the last time I got on a plane. Never ever again.
😂😂😂😂
GUYS THE PLANES ARE GROUNDED. NOT FLYING ALSO FLY JETBLUE , DELTA AMERICAN EVEN SPIRIT AS ALL OF THEM HAVE AIRBUS AIRCRAFT
@Mrfairchap No. And people here and in my own life can laugh and make fun of me all they want and I don't care anymore. You and the rest want to fly? Go ahead, Peter Pans. I'm good ON SOLID GROUND.
@@CaptainStandiford boeing is sus
@@edyann you better not go for a walk then because flying is far safer than even that...
The aircraft was not modified. The emergency exits in that location are optional, and this configuration did not require them. It was built to the configuration Alaska ordered.
Are these door plugs pretty common? Do other airline models have them or is it just specific to the max 9?
If it’s Boeing, I’m not going!!
good one ☝🏾
Most planes are from boeing unfortunately
UHMMM AIRBUS says howya@@jasyn727
@@jasyn727 That's why I'm confident in flying on Airbus
Boeing created 747, airbus didnt
Less than two months old!
This would be very different if that kid and his mom had not been wearing their seat belts 😮
Did you mean: McDonnell Douglas?
It is not only the structural failure that demonstrates the enormous shoddy with which it was designed and manufactured... it is not only the MCAS disaster... as if that were not enough THE MAX-7 that have not yet been delivered already have a problem that could be potentially lethal: the ice-air system at a certain altitude or engine power can cause the engine nacelles to catch fire..." Boeing discovered after the MAX entered service that if the system remained switched on after leaving the icy air, it could overheat and damage the composite structure, possibly leading it to break off the nacelle. The FAA stated that debris from such a breakup could penetrate the fuselage, putting passengers seated at windows behind the wings in danger, and could damage the wing or tail of the plane, “which could result in loss of control of the airplane."
Keeps getting better.
Concorde had one crash and the FIA scrapped the entire fleet but this American plane still flies. Scrap the entire fleet.
My flight from EWR to LAX was cancelled due to this. They rebooked me on a flight in 2 days to Seattle and now they’ve cancelled THAT flight. Do you know what’s missing? Any kind of instruction on what to do and how the company is resolving the problem. I simply bought another (more expensive) flight (Delta), but will have to deal with things later. The website won’t even let me cancel the original flight. Instead I’m told I should call and wait for 4+ hours! Lol! This whole thing is a major inconvenience but I bet the CEO will get a bonus this year! O_o
The MAX is plagued with issues. They should've stayed grounded the first time.
Funny how you believe news outlets but not the engineers that designed the plane.
anyone else starting to look more closely at what plane is on their tickets these days?? Poor Boeing.... fall of a great company due to penny pinching and shareholder pocket packing.
I am never flying a 737 max again after the door flying off and the two deadly crashes in 2018 and 2019😢
Talk about losing one's shirt.
😢😢😢
It was an emergency door that they covered up. Who in their right might would think covering an emergency door is a good idea. No one has every said “this building has too many emergency doors, get rid of one”
But this is the world of business where the extra doors would cost more to add and maintain over the years so as long as it meets regulations, the airlines seem to be ok with that and do without. One unfortunate case of this happening is when American Airlines chose to forgo the stick shaker on the first officer side on the DC-10, a mere few thousand dollar option and this would prove to be a factor in the deadliest single aircraft accident in US history.
It was plugged, so more like an emergency door could have gone there but never did. But there are rules on how many doors actually are needed, and those are only needed for high capacity configurations. It's just a waste of hardware, weight, and cost to install another exit on a plane that already has plenty.
It had to be plugged in order to accommodate a full row of seats in a lower density seating configuration. Besides this design dates back to the 737-900er without any problems so this might be due to a manufacturing defect or maintenance issue.
@@AmbientMorality How common is this to have a door plug on an airplane? Do other airplane models have them? To me it sounds disasters to plug a whole on an aircraft that flies 36,000 feet at 500 mph but than again I have no clue about aircraft or engineering.
@@adam7349 I believe all US airlines use the configuration with the plug on 737 MAX. Plugs in general are also extremely common, because not that many operators want the highest capacity seating.
The term plug might be misleading: it's basically the same as a door, but bolted down so that it cannot open, and lacking the hardware for opening. The structure is designed for a door-shaped hole there: the door frame is strengthened to carry that load.
Apparently this aircraft has only been operational for a couple of months that’s how new it is. Apparently it was not to be used for flights to Hawaii because of the distance involved over the ocean. Well if that is the case, it should be not operational at all what are Boeing and Alaska Airlines up to?
The people doing the door bolts ...
I remember when the other Max eights crashed shortly after that Boeing was saying they were going to change the 800s to the 900s and that’s exactly what they did. These are the same planes I’m sure of it although they have some max eight in Service.
Spirit Aero makes Boeings fuselage
I will never fly on it. The MAX must be scrapped
It’s transportation department fault he’s not doing his job,get him out before someone gets hurt
They shouldn't be able to modify a plane. Just eat the cost of replacing it.
Its like gambling ... Boy lost his shirt
These comments are laughable. Everyone’s suddenly such an expert in aviation saying the max should not be in service, or how Airbus is so much more advanced just because of a pressurization failure. This isn’t the first time a blow out and loss of pressure occurred on an airliner. Stop acting like the 737Max is such a death trap. Failures happen but you’re more likely to be struck by lightning than experience an inflight failure. Most of you know nothing about this.
So Boeing couldn’t get the Max 8 right so they built a 9. Now they can’t get the Max 9 right. Boeing might want to migrate from building planes. They are more focused on saving a buck than safety.
Tech debt at its highest.
This is the result of focusing on paying shareholders in lieu of investing in long term innovation, quality control and safety.
How scary!
I mean.... it's not Spirit!
Why does the airline company matter here?
Spirit is using the same planes, same airways, same airports, same regulations as others.
Once I heard someone would never take Spirit because it was shaky. Like if airlines control the weather 😂
A plug door should be mounted from the inside so that the pressure differential pushes and seals the larger door closed into the smaller opening. That's how main cabin doors work. They open inwardly, cant at angle, and then can be pushed outside the fuselage as they swing. This Boeing POS engineering looks like it is attached from the outside with the fasteners on the inside. The weakly designed fasteners system let go after enough de/pressurization cycles.
We all just let corporate greed put our lives in danger on a daily basis
Boeing has failed.
Boeing got off easy this time.
It should be ILLEGAL!!!!!!
Airbus
Max 8 and 9 are the same plane 😂 just minor changes
I don't know why airlines keep buying Boeings. Airbus' are just so much more advanced.
😡WHO put the bomb
on this plane ??

The max aircraft will it be grounded like the max 8
Boeing Boeing Boeing. More like Booing.

It outsourced the part of the factory which makes the fuselage... for profit, of course. This accident is the result of neoliberal policy. Profit for them, a free fall for you.
Gosh! who are these young engineers at Boeing nowadays? They don't know how to put together a plane this isn't up to Boeing standards this is cutting corners junkie standards and it is not up to par! Nobody should fly these planes. Nobody
That's what happens when you hire based only on diversity and not qualification...
Funny how nobody can report the door came off.. Everyone's reporting it was a window 😂
It wasn’t a door. It was a door plug
