The SR - 909 sounds like the hats are slightly brighter, But the timbre is the same.. I think it is utterly fantastic, And the best thing is that you have kept the same size as the original. I WANT ONE!!
I noticed that too, but listening to this comparison of the "RE-909" and the original, it seems like the tuning of the SR-909 is exactly the same :) Ordered my sr-909 nevertheless and since there is a HH tune mod for the original, this can easily be done with either one of the clones too *yay*
i own a roland tr909 and i can say : great job ! prefer the Steda Sr-909 over the Behringer Rd-9, the Steda seems perfect to me, i'm impressed. For me there's something sonically wrong with the behringer rd-9 imho
Big Steda just looked at your drum machine demo video. Love It Brother! Those Roland drum machines sounds REAL GOOD. I love how the drums, highs, claps, snares, can be manipulated to fit anyone's style. I would like to see you make a video creating a song with the Roland Drum Machines and a Roland Synthesizer. Nice video Brother Steda.
Very good video. The shuffle on the SR isn't as tight/choppy/gated sounding as the TR-909. TR-909 instruments are tightly synced with the shuffle. Listen to the clap on the TR-909 on shuffle setting 5-4-3 - the clap is locked dead centre and sounds very musical. The SR doesn't lock clap and shuffle together tightly enough on those settings. SR clap moves behind shuffle. Listen carefully.
Sounds spot on! Great alternative for the TR-9090 project that seems to have left the surface of the planet. Buiilt one years ago. Only the color of the noise in the snare sounds a little less dirty than the TR. Did you use a japanese NOS 4006? Everythinng else is just amazing about this.
You would have thought some soldering buffs with a bit of time on their hands would want to buy the kits and resell these and make a nice return wouldnt you? Plenty of us would be interested in fully assembled units. Oh well, RD9 it is then.
@@maccagrabme I could see doing it for an extra $1000 but who really wants to pay an extra 1k? not many. Then you have the problem with what if there are problems... support is a bitch. Tempting though
I have none of their products but i do have the RD 9 on order, sold my 909 in 97 and i want another sounds close and more features not paying 1000's for a Roland. They should of just re made it but they were to new tech focused.
beautiful. and finally someone who knows how to demo stuff

The sr-909 has the same hi hats pitch as the tr-09 or the cloud tr-909 so it’s probably that tr-909 has been aged haha
Amazing work! Sounds perfect. Also remarkable that none of the 37 yo caps has exploded or leaked. I'd be scared ... it's a ticking timebomb.
Those sanyo's hold up pretty nicely
The SR-909 sounds even better / warmer to my ears.

incredible, well done.
That's spot on! Great job 👍👍👍

Can you adjust snare to get it to that higher pitch and cut more?
Awesome demonstration. Is there a chance to be commercialized ?
TR sounds sharper, nothing a little para eq couldnt fix..nice
Sounds better , Love it!!! Planning to release that mean machine?
Amazing...how much? I can buy ensambled?
Hope these don't sell out before I can raise the cash to order a full kit...
Are you poor or something? Why dont you just father to buy it for you? Or use your credit card?
Anyway, It is vulgar to discuss finance
How is that vulgar? Explain pelase lmao

SR-909 seems tuned lower?
The hi-hats don't seem in tune - is this typical for variances between actual tr-909s?
AFAIK they're samples and in this regard, yes they shouldn't sound different.
I hear the difference even by phone without earphones.
is there an sr808???????
SR 909 sounds cleaner but not sure if that's a good thing though
Is it direct recorded through audio Interfaxe without any effects and compression?
Yes, direct to audio interface(sound card) . No EQ and Compression
I really don't understand why you don't tune the snare on the steda when doing comparison videos
It's pitched obviously lower compared to the 909
why did you call it sr ? i mean i would need to google the idea behind tr... obviously these machines are ...
the clap on the real 909 has a nicer, more authentic texture to it
Nice clone. Those leds are blinding though lol
💣
Roland TR-909 sounds exactly like my Roland TR-09
Great thing about this unit is the size. Try playing the tr09 live in a club. It was not fun at all.
Is there anyone selling this machine pre-built?
I am also askin this, I was going to buy a NAVA but its too much work for me..
I've preordered the full kit with the likelihood of building/selling on Reverb if I don't get along with it.

Hey Jan, maybe we can arrange something! I've already ordered my full kit and I'm building a 2nd one for a friend as well.

sr-909 is little bit harsher which might work really good for some genres. tr-909 sounds cleaner though
hi

Say no to behringer
Is it for sale ?
Its available as DIY kit
The snare on the SR sounds stale
