Can't believe this just came up on my You Tube feed. It opened in Denmark Street in the late 70s and I used to haunt the place around the early 80s when I worked in the Aldwych. Previously I used to go to Dark They Were And Golden Eyed. I remember finding that by accident, when I took a short cut down an alleyway, and thought I had died and gone to heaven. Both places hold a warm spot in my heart. They are both part of the reason that I now have a library of over 3,000 Sci-Fi and Fantasy books.
Same here m8, they were the golden days.
I go there once a week! mainly to pick up a few comics I'm collecting. Hope I run into u one day :) I mainly go Saturday, 10 when it opens cos I'm busy the rest of the day. Next month is the final comic for the JL vs Godzilla vs Kong.
I was so happy with my last buy there! U know the mystery bag figural clips? I wanted Batman from The Flash movie set, got 3 bags cos they were on offer, opened up Batman on the 3rd bag ;-; So happy cos I got a New Batman backpack I wanted him for
Yeah I always go there if any marts are on via Sunday or during the week while at work on a Thursday. Nice!! Batman is always the one you want! I have brought a few variant covers on the JL vs Godzilla vs Kong, great art!!
I remember the old location. The early 90s was a good time for comic book shops. Virgin megastore on Oxford street had a floor devoted to comics. As well as Hamleys on Regent street.
I was there Nov 2018, still look so dope that I can smell the items on shelves! lovely place and the staff were so nice!

I do love this store but it's cheaper online .. like lego stores you just walk round !but is always good to see things in a shop then go online.. amazing range of stuff here though!
The Lego storeline is alway long too.
I remember FP when it was in New Oxford St, quite a small shop back then, always love visiting when I'm around that area. FP & Denmark St for a guitar frenzy nerd out.
I remember when that whole glass wall on the left as you walk in was purely 1/6 Hot Toys figures. Now it seems to only have part of it and with a lot of cheap junk either side.

Back in the day when it was two separate shops round the corner from each other (one was in Denmark street I think 🤔) it was really good....comics, paperbacks, collectables and a lot of variety... It feels like any other corporate owned shop now
I always make a point of visiting Forbidden Planet when in London.

I remember the old forbidden plant on Denmark St back in the 80s wicked for comic collectors and had few toys stuff for sell. Now I go to new 1, once in a blue moon just to see the latest consumer junkies offering to the consumers, bit of a hit and miss really a lot of over priced plastic but dose have few good stuff on top floor. The basement is more latest comics and novel's, but being an oldish person I perfur the old shop with vintage comics, how time flys.
Cool! I am heading to London next month and definitely will stop by. About the rack on Macfarlane Super Powers: any chance I can find the collection ships in there?

There is a comic shop called Gosh and definitely the Disney store
It made me smile how happy you was to find that Mouse Guard book, not aware of the franchise but I might have to check it out. That Madmartigan Funko was a bargain, great video...

I ordered the MacFarlane Flash Batwing online from this store. Love it so much. Great store but have seen websites in UK that sell even more amazing items.
I wish we had a Walmart and Target in UK too. Watched some amazing videos on toy hunting in the US...comic cons are fucking amazing too-omfg

Used to be a whole bunch of comic shops within walking distance of fp's current location. All were great for back issues, current and curios etc..Unfortunately tat moved in . funko and such, no longer for comics , over priced toys in the guise of collectibles for the tourists only. Worth a look but not much else.

I'de wager that over ¾ of the shit in that shop is moody Chinese gear.
F planet sucks just alot of modern rubbish that most people don't want vintage & retro stores are the best you can always find good stuff in three don't matter what it is
I love forbidden planet it’s always good to mix old with the new for the collection. I am not a fan of re issue figures those from the 80s and 90s

Massively over priced store
When comic shops switched emphasis to toys and funko-sh*te instead of actual comics, they kind of killed the experience for me. I remember the original FP shop in Denmark Street, as well as Nostalgia & Comics in Birmingham.
