wow, if you would have told me this was going to be a vlog at the beginning of 2020 I wouldn't have believed you. at the same time, it's been a long while since I've felt the deep sense that I'm exactly where I need to be and doing what I need to do.
I will miss the city, but I'm typing this to you from the new spot you'll see in next weeks vlog and it's WEIRD how much I can hear myself THINK out here! It's like a giant breath of fresh air.

I was also packing while watching this video to move out of my parents' and into my first appartment. It's cool to see someone else going through a major life transition too. I. Am. Sobbing. 😩😭😭 You nailed what it feels like to leave a place you love but have outgrown in the most beautiful and crazy way. I am thrilled for you and your new adventure, and simultaneously felt this deep nostalgia and closure on a spiritual level. You GOT this, mama! ❤️
I remember that moving feeling all too well. For some reason it often seems to happen in the summer months - I guess for me because I’m a primary school teacher. So everything seems more beautiful and more nostalgic than ever. Would hardly feel the same if you were moving in the sleet and the dark! In my case I’d not only be leaving a home but also a job and a classroom of young kids behind, which would be even more emotional! As you drive away it’s like a B-roll is playing in your head of all the highlights and good times you had while you lived there. You’re sad to be leaving but you’re also glad to be leaving and you’re glad you came and glad you stayed as long as you did, but you know it’s time to move on now. And you’re excited for the new chapter that lies ahead as well as sad you’re leaving the old one behind. Because, as ready as you are for a change of scene and a new life ahead, you know that you’ll always look back on this chapter with the fondest of memories, and you know you will never ever get to relive it again - all is left are the photos and the memories. And, as happy as you are to take the next step, you’re still aware that you had a really great time here, and that nothing, nothing in the future will be quite like it again ... Yes, it’s such an emotional time and this video really captured all of those emotions and brought me right back to the different moves I’ve had so far in my life. And it’s true, each chapter has been very different, and none have ever been quite the same again ... Thank you, Kalyn, for this trip down memory lane. I hope you find the house of your dreams very, very soon. x

I clicked this thinking hey I forgot she moved out bc I never fully watched the video. But now- I feel so empowered / strong / happy / sentimental / sad because in these three years I faced so many challenges and I never thought I’d be able to overcome them, but then I watched your videos in those times and I pulled myself together and powered through and it’s just crazy seeing you moving out of the house that I watched you move into. It’s also crazy seeing how much you grew and changed as a person.

That happened to me one time when I got my hair done at a place recommended by a friend and I found out just how much more money she had than me. Which is not a problem, but I definitely felt it was ignorant on her part to recommend the place to me. I spent almost $300 on a cut and color that looked gorgeous but was not at all what I had asked for AND was honestly just the exact same cut/color that my friend had. *facepalm* Live and learn!
