Hey Trip! Just get a little pool float or small raft and inflate it when at anchor and tie it off and move items over to it. You already have the pump on board.
Trip, true story. When I was in college I got an apartment with my older brother. All my money went to pay for books, frozen pizza and tuition so I could not afford a new mattress for our apartment. So I went to walmart and found an inflatable raft and slept in it on the floor for months. My girlfriend's dad (who is now my father in law) heard about it and brought me a mattress the next time he visited his daughter (my wife of 15 years today). I always tell my sons, be grateful for what you have because your dad had to sleep many nights on a raft to get it. 😂
Surprised to finally see inflatable boat content. It’s really the cheapest and most space efficient way to get into boating. A lot of people don’t have a truck to pull a boat, nor do they have $10k+ to buy a skiff ($30k C Dory 😳) or something along those lines. Budget friendly adventuring is always great content.
I cannot wait to see this camp out!!! You need to take your kayaking bilge pump and a large sponge to remove water from the bottom of the boat if you need to!
The rub strick on the side also doubles as a hook system for a tent so if u can fashion up a hook system on the poncho u can hook under the strick railing to pull the poncho tight for rain runoff
I'm enjoying this project big time, but I think we can grow more efficiently. Catch and cooks are soooo huge on youtube right now. Wouldn't take much, a quick afternoon at the river and a quick meal cooked would be perfect. We can't eat sardines forever Trip! (or can we?)
Thanks!!! Yea.... that may be something I need to tap into. I did one a while back and it was performed decent but nothing special really.... Well.... you could! Would be better off than eating cup cakes forever lol
That actually looks pretty comfortable. I bet it wouldn't be hard to take some flexible tent poles and rig up a tarp that covers the whole thing and keeps it nice and dry if it rains.
How about using your life jacket as a pillow? Or better yet get a Bass Pro- M24 In-Sight Manual Inflatable Belt Pack and just wear it like a fanny pack and leave the big one at home? and that little anchor that was in the bag would most likely hold you and takes up less room. you can remove the motor and drag the boat ashore and flip it over and sleep on the bottom and use it as a mattress
I thought about the PFD for a pillow, but I'd like as good of a nights sleep as I can get. I have a belt PFD that I'm considering.... That anchor that was in the bag is no little anchor ;) It's a pretty big one for a much larger boat, you just have to assemble it. I love the nylon ones... the work great, are lightweight and them not being metal makes them easier on the boat. Never thought of sleeping onshore with it upside down! Now that's an idea!!!
Not sure if you’ve done one yet, but a short video on dry bags would be great. Seems like you’ve used quite a few different brands. We all know not all dry bags are created equal. Would be cool to hear your views and preferences on them.
Im thinking the same thing, or similar...a stryker inflatable boat 14 or 15 feet long, i definitely will be making my own "tent" covering (the bimini just sucks at keeping mosquitoes away) however, im packing alot more gear going placer mining for gold, so the boat you have shown, thats about the size i would have in tow for additional fuel to operate water pumps, generator, ect to keep fuel vapors out of sleeping quarters. But yes, a much similar plan, less crawling biting insects to worry about sleeping at anchor ⚓ than in tent on the riverbank.
Are you worried there could be residual water under the floorboards that would make you wet at night (like if you take a wave over the bow, that water will stay under the floor)? Maybe laying down a cheap plastic drop cloth from Walmart before bed would be good insurance to stay dry.
Trip you could make a bi fold out of light wood and pad it. Cut it to shape Just place it on top of the inflatable and your gear would be under the bifold dry and safe.. Not to mention just gear tie on the platform.. Be done. Keep it simple.

Yea..... My fear is something happen to that cheap little float while I'm asleep lol

Oh awesome! Great story!!!! Great lesson!
the idea with the paddles as a roof support is amazing !
Quá gọn, quá ok, quá tuyệt vời luôn bạn ơi!

I agree with you. Should be some interesting content!
You certainly are very creative. The only thing I would add is a roll of toilet paper. Thank you for a great idea and a great video.
Lol Oh yea, there are a few extras I didn't mention. Just wanted to be sure I had the bulkier items ;)

Can’t wait for the dinghy trips , I have a small dinghy my self and love to take it around FL
Oh cool! I can't wait either!

You're right, probably wouldn't be to difficult... WOuld look pretty cool too!
Achilles makes a quality boat, it maybe a small one but it’s a good one.
That's good to know Ben, thanks!
I’m excited to see you use it
Glad to hear that Dubz!

I really haven't done one specifically Andrew, but probably should! Thanks for the suggestion!

Get a pvc patch kit and take the foot pump. Temperature change will change air pressure.
Question is, will I have time to patch it while out there? That glue takes a while to dry.... Like days lol
Boat Fort! That looks like a lot of fun, Trip. Good going!
Heck yea!!!
Hurry and do a Overnighter want to see how it turns out. Enjoyed it Trip
It's going to be a bit. Plus I want fairly warm weather for this thing lol

That's something to consider.... I've never had the boat in the water so I'm uncertain if water sits in the bottom. Surely not? I guess we will see!
Sometimes small boats = big fun
I think you are very right Tim!
awesome video Trip!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Robert!!!
Good stuff Trip
Glad you enjoyed it Cow!
I can't make comments when I watch you on my TV. I did catch you last night.
lol No worries ;) thanks for tuning in!!!!

Yea, that might not be to bad of an idea.... I like the thought of a trampoline type system.... Good thought!!!!
Bring a inflatable inner tube and put stuff on it and tie it off to the boat.
I'd be worried about something happening to it in the night and my stuff being gone lol
I would just get a good camping blanket/ tarp and some carabiner for a cover
That might work ;)
nice zodiac boat for fishing
Thanks!!! Should be fun!
How many air chambers does that dinghy have? Just wondering in case of a puncture does the entire thing deflate?
Do you have to have an anchor light and nav lights on that for it to be legal?
You do ;) I've got some battery powered ones.
You should grab one of those flat gas cans
I will see how things go and may grab one. Good suggestion!
you should check out whaly for a good strong dinghy.
I've seen those and the look pretty awesome John! I'm using this one primarily because I already have it lol
genial
FJB
Lol Dang gas prices....
