For example mosquitos do not exactly feed on blood, they feed on nectar like butterflies, but in some species females, although still feeding on nectar, collect blood in order to produce offspring (most of the species don't even need to do this, for example they might need blood only to increase egg production, or if they want to reproduce a second time in their lifes). The other thing is that butterflies and caterpillars do not share the same ecological niche (as you have said, they develop different feeding strategies and this is precisely so they don't have to share a niche). I deeply care about responding to people who hate my country. This reminds me of the Chimera Ants from Hunter X Hunter. If insects grew up as giant monsters and declare the war to us, we would certainly lose.
