    Thanks for all the work you put in to the reviews. I have scoured every one of your camera videos (And spent hours on RUclips) trying to find a turret or dome camera mounted to a vertical wall and the best way I can describe is looking down and sideways, as I'm trying to capture surveillance down an access path or rear of the house and not looking out from the camera across my neighbours yard. Not sure if I'm explaining it correctly. No one really reviews these with a hand full of position options. Thanks anyway.

    May I ask where you are sourcing all the latest equipment from? I ask because recently when you had a video on a switch you were replacing, the powercord was US and you discarded that. So led me to think you must be getting them from the UI web store, but when I try and use their webstore there is no way to be able to get something shipped to Australia. If you were buying from any Australian reseller, I assume they would have the AU plug. So are UI sending you these items as freebies? I like the camera, but I am not sure I like the flying ethernet lead. I would prefer it have the connector like the other cameras have as that flying lead seems to have a slightly chunkier connector, meaning a bigger hole in a ceiling to feed it through, not to mention a point of failure if the cable is damaged. Aside from that, this is definitely a great camera from the more affordable end of Ubiquiti's range. I still think Unifi have some of the best IR Night vision on their cameras out of all the brands. It just always seems so crisp compared to other brands, including more expensive ones.

      The camera is really great. Still my favourite low price camera from Unifi. The rat tail connector does remove the ingress point of failure from the outside to the inside, which is useful, and you are right that you need a slightly bigger hole for it to pass through.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  4 месяца назад +1

      Good question. It kinda depends on the size and layout of your carport. Really wide angle cameras, like the G5 Dome Ultra (video coming next week) gives a pretty good view. I wouldn't use a camera with a long IR range, as you probably don't need it in a carport.

    • @jrmbtr
      @jrmbtr 4 месяца назад +1

      @@LarsKlintTech this is actually rather helpful as I was considering doing a G5 Pro with Enhancer at the back of the carport, facing the cars. Perhaps a G5 Turret or AI Theta might be better in that location. I have the doorbell also in that space but it’s coverage is limited. I planned on a G5 PTZ on the outside corner of the carport (two walls are the house, with front and right side being open-air).

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  4 месяца назад

      @@jrmbtr The G5 Pro is a great camera too, so you need to figure out if that is overkill, which I would say it is in a carport where the range needed is likely limited. What's the difference between the G5 Turret Ultra and G5 Flex? Are they just the same camera orher than form factor or is one a better camera over the other?

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  16 дней назад +1

      They are very similar. The main difference is the Turret has a IP66 rating compared to the Flex being IPX4, so the Turret is meant for outdoors, the Flex not so much.
      The form factor can be a deciding factor too, as you can mount the Turret more flush to walls etc.

    • @DonnieKluck
      @DonnieKluck 16 дней назад

      @LarsKlintTech really I didn't know that. I thought the flex was meant to be outdoors as well. Do you know can you mount the G5 Turret Ultra and somehow run the cat5 cable not through a ceiling? Like I have a could places where the cable is exposed and will be run along the surface that the camera is mounted to.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  16 дней назад +1

      @@DonnieKluck You can use Flex cameras outdoors, but they aren't technically rated for it. I have 3 G3 Flex outside which have worked for 3 years or so.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  5 дней назад +1

      @@DonnieKluck Hmmm. I really depends on what you want in terms of features. The image itself is very similar between the two, but the zoom on the PTZ is nice. The IR is longer on the Turret though. Hard to say. If you don't need zoom or tracking, the G5 Turret Ultra is still the best I'd say.

    They give us every piece of useless information under the sun yet won’t provide the sensor size?

      Click the link in the description to get the camera listing and the tech specs shows the sensor size as 1/2.4" CMOS. No need to be so negative, just because you have a specific piece of data you need. Others might want to know other things about the camera.

      Thanks for your insightful comment Andy. I am keen to hear what you think I might "have no clue about" in particular. It appears you have trouble being specific, in sharp contrast to my video on the LinknLink ISG device, which was very specific on it not being useful for anyone and only adding unnecessary complexity. Perhaps watch that video to get a sense of how you can create constructive and useful feedback that can improve products and content.
