I am in the Panhandle and saw my first tarpon of the year in the creek behind my house about a week ago. The big ones don't usually come inshore up here, just migrate down the coast, but the small ones come into the estuaries for a few months before they move on.
Have you done or could you do a video on your general approach to finding these canal spots for tarpon. I live on the west side of Okeechobee and mostly fish west coast but might come east too if I understood better how to find spots. Such as how close to salt access, how far inland, show a sample map, etc. Thanks love the videos.
dam Eric, when you were dust'n ur draws off it reminded me of the the movie shallow hal! just josh'n. favorite small tarpon hook for me .....gama sc15 (#2/#1) good video thx
great video man!!! where is this trail located? down south or up north? it looks awesome and ive been looking for more trails by canals to ride/fish down
Hey Eric, I love the content. I have a 40# freshwater tarpon locked in a pond off of the C-51 canal in Boynton Beach. I have been trying to catch him for 8 months. I’ve hooked into him 3x and lost him each time. I would love the opportunity to fish with you. Let me know if you’re interested in helping me catch this freshwater monster.
🌴 I could see you were getting a bit “ ant’s C “ about getting some tarpon , 😄 that embankment is a bit of a hindrance, hard to tell how far your casting do you use a fisheye lens ? Looks like 60’ ft , at least ya didn’t get skunked , have ya had the Jon boat out lately?
It’ll keep dust out of the air filter. I drive down a lot of dusty dirt roads in the dry season. But yes, it won’t be 100% necessary. it’s not like I’m driving through a dessert. lol

Yes I did. Earlier this year. Look for the video “the saw signs will help you catch tarpon”
Love the tarpon trail but it’s pretty hard to land them from up there lol
What is your rod and reel combo. I already have a 9wt but now I want a 4wt? What you have?
I have a video where I go over my setup. It’s a $48 5wt rod from Bass Pro, but I have a custom Nautilus XM reel on it.

I like the SC15 or SL12s for big ocean tarpon. But for these backwater bandits, I'm all about the gama B10s Stinger.

What fly line do you use?
Looks like a floating line
@@AspiringSpaceWizard I meant the brand
I been using Cortland tropic compact. But any tropical short head taper fly line should work.

Just the day I made the video from a couple weeks ago. Maybe soon. But I think I’m gonna list it for sale. I got something in the works. 👀
@@Eric.Estrada , 🤔hummm, a new boat ! Your gonna have to sell a lot of artwork 😆👍🏼
@@davescheer5038 haha, want to buy some? 😂
You don't need a snorkel on your truck. It would be purely for looks.
