Canadian Kolomyika

This "Canadian Kolomyika" is dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On this night in late November, dance groups from Winnipeg and area gathered to raise their spirits and raise some money for Ukraine! 🇺🇦

In Canada... there are many people who show their love of Ukrainian culture by participating in Ukrainian dance.

And when the Ukrainian community in Canada gathers... late in the evening the dancers create a circle and take turns going into the centre.

It's called a Kolomyika because originally it was the fiery music of the Hutsuls that inspired dancers to start showing off their tricks.

This Kolomyika is dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Know that we support and stand in solidarity with you. The Ukrainian spirit can never be defeated!
