I am still a daddy's little girl at 44 years old. My dad adopted me last year for my birthday and I knew nothing about it. I was a surprise. They told me that he had to go to court for some kind of medical bill and needed character witnesses so the judge would know he wasn't a flake. I found out just as the lawyer was telling the judge what the case was about. I cried so hard because that was what I always wanted. He has always been there for me, he has always been my daddy, it's just legal now and the state recognizes it.
My father abandoned my Mother and I when I was seven years old. He met another woman and never looked back or tried to contact us. Life was often very hard for my Mom and I, in some ways, I think that’s why she passed too young. When I was 44 years old, I received a call from my father’s sister. She said he had a massive stroke and wasn’t long for this world and that I should go to see him. I went to the hospital, he could no longer speak, but he knew who I was right away. I went a couple of times a week to see him for months and to tell him all about my life...growing up, college scholarship, marriage, etc. One day I received the call that he had finally passed. Everyone said I shouldn’t have given him the time of day. But I believed in my heart that everyone deserves atonement and forgiveness...especially before they leave this world. To all the women out there that had loving fathers, you were truly blessed with a gift like no other. Be grateful and thank God. My Mom was my greatest gift in life, I was abundantly blessed with her love and care for me.

Just found your song yesterday. Tears streaming no matter how many times I listened to this song. I have a 4 years old daughter and she's my world. She was a premature baby and my wife had a lot of complications during pregnancy and at birth she was so small at only 1.57kg. The Dr said she may suffered a few health problems as she grows older but thank God she rarely get sick and recently she got Cov19 and yet recovered very fast. I don't know how can I continue to live on if I lost her.
