@@Soviet_Russia45 hate to break your ego, but coming from a person who has nearly 1000 hours on a multitude of flight simulator games plus time spent in actual military aircraft, the term "dogfight" is an aerial battle between fighter aircraft conducted at close range. it is also ACM or, in simple terms. air combat maneuvering. so sorry to be rude. but in no way does any factual source or actual one for that matter states that missiles cannot be used in a dogfight. if it hurts you that bad, go watch a duel between props.

What does flares do? Stop lock on missiles? Cuz when he activated flare, the missile disappeared or just explode mid air.

if you’re a good pilot and the f14 is piloted by another good pilot the mig 29 usually wins due to higher missile count and the better autocannon

f14 wins pretty easily. Migs are fairly easy to kill since once you launch 3 missiles(1 for flares) it barley has any hp and you can just shoot it down with your gun.
