I have no complaints about the TRX-4 shocks on any of my TRX-4s! I found that the cap on the bottom of the shock, the name of which escapes me right now, needs to be loosened a little to allow better piston shaft movement! It reduces or eliminates "sticksion" and I haven't had a shock leak.. My TRX-4 Sport has seen the most use of all of them. I use Treal wheels and Pro-Line Tires. I like the Hyrax and the Baja Pro X both in Predator compound. Personally, I never found the Canyon Trail tires to be anything but a great all-around tire. However, I am quick to say that the Pro-Line tires that I mentioned above will easily out perform the Canyon Trail tires in my opinion! My Sport climbed much better in all terrain challenges with the Pro-Line tires and the Hyrax tire performs very well as a snow tire on my TRX-4 21 Bronco! There are so many great options out there to choose from, a person can get a good Trail Truck set up to do just about anything! :) Thanks for making this video my friend and have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)
@@rt66rc86 I love those new Bronco TRX4’s. Yeah same here about the factory shocks. I haven’t had one leak in three years. I do need to change the oil in them as part of maintaining everything every few months or if I’ve done any water crossings. But I really see no need in buying any aftermarket ones at all because they do the job they need to do for me anyway. I’ve had the Hyrax tires and they were pretty good. I guess I should reiterate that they are a very good all around trail tire. But honestly I’ve had no issues on the rocks at all either by the videos. Now I will say that I haven’t used them in mud at all. In fact I don’t travel through much mud to think of really. At least nothing like a mud pit or mud run. I have had several BF Goodrich mud terrain and Baja terrain tires and they were meh ok I guess. Oh I also cut sipes into my tread blocks so to get better suction and traction. That seems to go a long way I think. Now I’m by no means any expert in RC’s but I am a master tech of 30yrs and owning my own shop for 20yrs so what knowledge I do have in automotive performance I try carry that forward to the RC stuff. I’m going to check out your suggestion on the lower shock cap and see how that works. Sounds like a great idea. Very good stuff man. Thanks for the suggestions. And I’m so glad you liked the video. I have many more coming out soon so be in the 👀 lookout. Thanks for the holiday wishes and you yourself have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year as well. Take care. Hope to see some comments in the future.
@@uan588 yeah I do want to run a hobbywing fusion some day soon. Everything I’ve seen and read is that it’s the way to go. At the time the Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Sport was affordable and for what’s it’s worth it’s been very good. I have no complaints. But a brushless motor like the fusion would be a welcomed addition and upgrade no doubt. It’s on my list of things to add after the holidays. Thanks for watching the video. I hope you tune in for more as I am finally getting around to being able to edit and it out content from months ago. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎊🎆
