Brilliant; kudos to the conductor for this symphonic / opera co-ordination; I shudder to think of the days/months of practice. The other version I have is a similar performance by Ngai Wai Ying & Yew Ji Kiong - which was just as brilliant - a much treasured CD.

In HK, go to the little CD shop (if it is still there - I have not been in 2 years !!) in the lobby of SunKong Theatre in North Point - it stocks a complete range of Cantonese opera CDs. The proprietor charges a premium for the CDs - but I think she knows her supply/demand..

Transforming the secularization of Cantonese opera into classical music is a good try. It is worth promoting to the Western world and promoting Chinese culture. Hopefully , the screen should add the English , Spanish and Italian language so they can know the story.

此等演绎、不敢恭维.
用梁祝原调，填词用粤剧/粤曲演唱的方式，虽然是创新，却使人会觉得格格不入。主的原因是原曲乃叙述梁祝完整的故事。最后的化蝶更会使听众“目睹”双蝶的飞去，有着余音绕梁、三日不绝的效果。
这里用演唱的方式，使得原曲甚至小提琴的主奏都成了伴奏，听众不能再用听协奏曲的方式来欣赏演唱曲。

你個表演藝術性不高，但教育性很高，可以創意很高，參與者的誠意及努力。是有目共睹的。將藝術品平文化，是一大突破。另一般普羅大眾能夠通過梁祝節奏曲，具體瞭解梁祝的愛情故事。不單從音樂的感染，而是將具體故事描述，瞭解這經典音樂的內容及章節。不失為一個聰明的辦法。令小眾的古典藝術，成為大眾的民間藝術。
平子唱得好，但內容曲詞改到不知所謂，不中不西，浪費平子，樂團好表演，世界名曲遭此不幸!
