Thank you for the good instructional video on creating decorative cuts. You provided a wealth of information…so much so that I’ll have to watch it multiple times to ensure I know what I’m supposed to to be doing as I practice. This tooling part of leather craft is going to take time and more veg tanned leather in order to get it right.
Great details for somebody who’s been intimidated by tooling. I’ve been doing leather work for about 6 years now. Up until today I feel ready to give er a shot ! Thank you
Great video. I have all my dads saddle making tools and enjoy leatherworking but dont know how to create things like this. Most of them I have no idea what theyre used for. Im going to try this project and see how it goes.
Thank you for the very informative video. I purchased the deluxe beginner set and have tinkered with it, but this will be a huge help in advancing my tooling. Thank you
Thanks Joe, this was a great video! I was curious, do you have to use unfinished, un-dyed veg-tan leather when tooling or could you use leather that has been finished and dyed already e.g. Buttero, Pueblo, etc?
This is actually a kit that I have put together to help beginner crafters. You can check it out here: twentythreeplus.com/collections/tools/products/beginner-tooling-kit
Yes! These tools are out of our Deluxe Beginner Tooling Kit. You can check them out here! twentythreeplus.com/collections/tools/products/beginner-tooling-kit
I am looking for someone to do the inlay of my bead strips and do tooling for belts I am in Oklahome can you recomend someone or would you be willing to partner with someone?
If you should want to know what complete frustration is, try teaching the use of the swivel knife to six-graders. My advice is forget it. They love to stamp. STAMP! STAMP! STAMP! 😅😅😅😅
For clarification, these are all tools that come in the “beginner kit” he sells, i believe he mentioned it towards the beginning of the video, so while they may be slightly more advanced you are both correct
@@programmingfortheweb that’s so strange. The link is live on our side & working for other users. What is your email so we can get this pattern to you.
I appreciate you taking the time for us beginning toolers. Been doing leather work for awhile but not tryed tooling.
Thank you for your detail explanation!

Do you antique your work? Or just oil and tan kote your work
It depends on the project but most of the time I do antique it. I have some detailed videos on my step by step process.
It wont let me down load pattern either error

Great video except you didn’t use beginner tools. The small beveler and that shader are more advanced tools.
For clarification, these are all tools that come in the “beginner kit” he sells, i believe he mentioned it towards the beginning of the video, so while they may be slightly more advanced you are both correct
Dont say tools lol ill have to go get another one lol
He sells a beginner kit which is what he used here.
lol yes its fun to add to the collection
When you basket stamp a belt what size stamp do you personally use?

thank you. I am glad it was helpful!
Hi, The link for your pattern isn't working. I'm getting a *404 Not Found* error
You may need to try another browser.
@@joemeling3216 I get the same error on both Chrome and Firefox.

Good am joe. I got a question for u. What's the difference between Herman oak leather n veg tan from tandys leather ?
Herman Oak is the tannery and I’m not sure what the difference in their process is but in my opinion it tools much better than the imported leathers.
@@joemeling3216 Thank u..
There's a video on the Springifield Leather channel that goes into detail about this. ruclips.net/video/rOpqWydgr-s/видео.html
