You are the best tutor i have found on Utube so far. I have been playing Alto sax for just two months and have been making slow progress. My greatest obstacle has been in maintaining my Ombuteur. I am 85 yrs old and also play rhythm guitar in our church band, harmonica and a little keyboard. Thank you for these instruction, they are a great help.
I'm just now seeing this and will try the reed-biting exercise in my next practice session. But I have a question, a problem really. I play soprano with a metal (Beechler 6) mouthpiece. The mouthpiece constantly wants to fall out of my mouth, and sometimes on low notes it just slips out altogether. I try to remind myself to stick the thing back in my mouth every time I take a breath, but it's a constant battle to keep enough of it in my mouth where my 'sweet spot' seems to be and where I get the tone I want. Any advice about this? I love your channel by the way. Some of the most practical and sensible advice about playing the saxophone I have come across.

Hey Oracle, the reed on top of the mouthpiece is genius! Thanks.
Indeed... it's a real game changer.
