I’ve been having so many conversations with my friends recently about how nice it is to actually find people who will get excited when you get excited about a thing you like, who *want* you to ramble on about whatever you’re hyperfixating on at the moment bc they care about you and find interest in the things you care about bc they’re interested in who you are as a person, and your interests are a part of that. And it becomes a give and take, listening enthusiastically and engaged-ly (that’s not a word but I can’t think of a better one atm 😅) to each other’s ramblings (when you have the time to do so of course, obviously sometimes other things take precedence) and being secure in the knowledge that the other will do the same. It is an unfortunately rare trait outside of our particular friend groups, we’ve found, and therefore those friends become all the more precious and appreciated. Julia, and you, OP, by extension, have done a fantastic job of condensing some of my thoughts on the matter in the way I was previously unable to. So thank you! ☺️

This is my hundred thousandth time rewatching this, and I still can't get over the naming joy and olive section of the video. It's just so unbelievably comfy to listen to, and I especially can't get over how Jacob looks directly at Julia when he says "I want to hold them in my arms and I want to tell them that I love them." My goal in life is to find someone who I look at the same way, and who looks at me that way too.

The clip starting at 13:18 brought back so many memories of my mom trying to play Mario with us kids on the NES XD Bless her for trying but oh boy, she just could not clear those cliffs. I don't think she ever got past 1-1. Jacob's reactions are a perfect reminder of those days!
