    I like the aesthetic of the divided skirt attached to the legs, it's very Kenner. But the arm pose isn't. If they were more straight at her sides rather than this pose, it would evoke the 'neutral mannequin' look of the vintage toys more.

    It seems like the first leia was very kenner and carrie. Then when they got to empire and return it seemed like the faces were not as carrie but still kenner. The hoth leia was pretty good though. This Looks cool. As someone pointed out already the arms and straight down would remind me of early kenner.

    I Would Say that Hasbro should make one for the Return of the Jedi line of the Retro Collection but since Disney is trying to stay away from her, I think that they'll do Darth Vader with Removable helmet instead. BUT they added her as one of the options for a black series re-release poll a while back so it's possible to bit unlikely.

    I remember reading some action figure price guide book at Barnes And Noble once. It mentioned how every red-blooded collectobr would want a Slave Leia figure at the time they were released in the mid-to late 90s. Then there was something mentioned warning people that you wouldn't want your children's morals corrupted with that figure,so I think Kenner was just worried about the morals of kids.

      I think other issues are to Carrie Fisher (now her family and estate). From 1996-2009 Carrie Fisher was alive and personally okayed Hasbro licensing her sexual situation action figures easily found at toy stores at the time where George Lucas owned Star Wars. At best would be another non-Leia likeness that had 2001's Power of the Jedi deluxe Leia and Cannon that made that an easy toy store clearance find back then. The winning Slave Leia Hasbro figure was done in 2009's Legacy Collection (can't buy easily under $80 today). It was repackaged in 2012-13 Black Series.

      It probably would be very tricky with an FDM printer due to the thin arms and some other very delicate parts, but some initial testing that I've done has shown that many vintage figures will be more or less okay even on an FDM printer.

    • @hw2577
      @hw2577 4 года назад

      Generally, you want to print small items with fine details, like 1/18 action figures, on resin. FDM for larger, more linear objects like space vehicles. So get both: a resin printer to print these cool action figures, and an FDM to print vehicles for them. 😀

    Darn! I was hoping to see how you painted her eyes. How did you do her eyes and eyebrows? I did find this video, around he 16:00 mark; Toy Polloi discusses his eye painting technique. ruclips.net/video/R2sYVLjLpUA/видео.html

    Sorry but this looks nothing like a vintage Kenner figure. All the guy did was scan a modern Hasbro Slave Leia and chunked up the legs. What a waste.

      I don’t think that’s literally true (I have all of the Leia figures and this doesn’t match any of them in terms of its details) but I do think that it could be more “vintage-like”

      @@MightyJabbasCollection Maybe not literally, but set this one side by side with the one that came out in like 1998 or 99 and from the waist up, they look the same. A Kenner tribute shouldn't be that detailed or realistic. Anyway...

    Drill out the arm holes. Duh!

    • @MightyJabbasCollection
      @MightyJabbasCollection 4 года назад

      John Parisi Thats a possibility of course, but I believe the holes have a little recessed part inside to receive a part that sticks out on the peg. If you drill out the holes, the limbs won’t stay in as well

      Yeah, I normally do a better job but I was kind of distracted by trying to film and paint at the same time. I think maybe a top-down camera setup would allow me to see what I’m doing better than trying to essentially paint in the viewfinder of the camera
