We have been eating pepper jelly but we have to get crackers & cream cheese & then put a small amount on top of the cream cheese & it's amazing & it's not as spicy because the cream cheese fixes that. At Christmas my family just put out a whole block of soft cream cheese & the pours the green pepper jelly on half & red pepper jelly on the other half so it's very Christmasy looking & is gone in a very short time. 😍❤️💚😋👍

While opening gifts on Christmas Eve, the dining room table had one, along with a variety of Holiday cookies, breads, perhaps sweets like mom's homemade fudge and English toffee. (She was diabetic, so she wasn't able to eat the goodies she made.) Cheese and cracker trays were seen when gathering for Thanksgiving or when my folks would have friends over. (As kids, we were supposed to be in bed but we'd sneak in the kitchen to grab anything still left in the boxes.) A popular cracker was called Sociables, or perhaps RyKrisp. A fave meat 'spread' was liverwurst (on saltines). Sooo good. Your yummy platter has me wandering down memory lane. 😊

Charcuterie boards are like that, with cheese, crackers, spreads, jams, fruit, meats, etc. Really you can combine anything. We do that here in the USA too.
If you place your salsa, jams and jellies into ice cube trays, freeze them and store in the freezer covered with plastic wrap, all you have to do is pop out what you want and the remaining won't spoil.
Apple butter is usually spiced with cinnamon. Sometimes cloves and allspice too. Pumpkin butter is usually cinnamon, ginger and cloves. It can vary by recipe.

I live in Amish country and we have cheese & meats "trays" fairly often. OK, we have cheese, meats, crackers and bread without the tray, but still, the same thing. We have very several large cheese companies in the area, so we have some good, local, and not horribly expensive cheese. NOTE: you can freeze the jams right in their jars, so it won't go bad after you have a large amount opening/taste test.
I generally dislike apple butter but it *is* excellent on pork chops or a pork loin. A friend of ours used to make a pepper jam and labeled it Cowboy Candy. She used to give a couple jars to my Dad every time she made it. He loved the stuff.
Apple butter is cooked for hours. My uncle use to have a family gathering,to make it. A really big pot hung over a wood fire. The woman folk coring and peeling the apples. The men tending the fire and stirring the apples. Stirring the apples was the hardest part ,it had to be done constantly. For like 6 hours. Of course we were making like 6 gallons of applebutter,everyone got a quart.
You guys eat so little.... I would of put some meat on the Cracker, added some cheese, make 6 of them, pot them in the Microwave for 30 seconds, added some Jelly and be as happy as a Bear in the Woods.... LOL

Carol your on the right track,use the apple butter as a glaze on pork chops,roasts ect.Try it with lightly toasted white bread without the butter so you get the full flavor on all the products as well.

39 almost 40 from West Virginia. My parents were older. Mom and dad born in 49 & 47 step dad in 44. So my grandparents were brn like 1918-20’s. I have a black and white OLD photo of my Great grandma churning up some apple butter in a cauldron in her front yard with a paddle.
This brought back a memory! My kids and I used to "adopt" soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan during the wars, and we'd send them letters and packages. One of our adoptees was an MP (military police), so he had to deal with some pretty bad people. My kids wanted to make Christmas really special for him, so we sent a box that was similar to what you have there. We got two packages of what we call summer sausages that were made with game meats, one each of deer, elk and bison. We got some different cheeses, crackers, fancy mustard and such, and different kinds of Christmas sweets. Florencio wrote to us that he opened the box and looked at all the delicious things in it. He said, "There's so much here, I have to share this." He spent the next two seconds watching the box go empty! He said the other guys shared with him, though. My daughter thought that was so funny! His buddies shared with him, but it was HIS PACKAGE! LOL

They also blend well into certain sauces for meat. And don't forget about peanut butter sandwiches! I have black raspberry plants in both my front yard and my back yard. They were not put there on purpose; they are there thanks to birds or squirrels dropping seeds. Last summer, I picked over 2000 berries. One way I used them was to stir just-picked berries into a little bit of compatible preserve (like the black raspberry jam you have), and then layer it with sponge cake and whipped topping to make individual-serving trifles, FRESH, several times a week.

What a great charcuterie board! We do similar and it's really based on personal taste! Figs, dates, honey, goats cheese, olives, all sorts of nuts, etc. Funny enough digestive are an English British UK thing, we just have cookies and granola bars etc. Never seen digestives in the store over the years
Recky and Carol when I grew up as a kid the way my mother would always do it she'd take bread like this and cover it real heavily with butter toast it until it was golden brown and then put this stuff on there while it was still warm and I can taste and smell it just thinking about it she'd always do it with French bread and sourdough
We have red and black raspberries. When I was younger, I made all our jams and jellies. While the local Amish-made is better than store-bought, I still miss homemade.
In prior videos, you have mentioned jellies, etc. spoiling. ServSafe recommends being careful to avoid cross-contamination. This occurs when harmful bacteria are transferred from one food to another by means of a non-food surface, such as utensils, equipment or human hands. For example the spatula touching the butter on the cracker and then being dipped into the jellies.
Toast the sliced baguette on a tray in the oven…easy, fast, you can lightly pre-spread a garlic parsley flake and butter mix on both sides…if you can find them, New York bagel chips, garlic flavor (I discovered them in TX and now I can’t find them anywhere)
Sweet Chili rice chips [triangular again] are a second option. Third is mustard pretzel chips, but pretzel chips have spillage risk because they are holey.
Yesterday for supper, I had a jalapeño jelly with bacon and Swiss cheese grilled in butter sandwich. It is my new favorite thing!!! I think next time I will order it with a different cheese. The cheese had no flavor.

I think all those jellies would go well with pork of any sort since pig and fruity sauces are delicious. Salty ham, chops, bbq, bacon, sausage etc. Maybe try the raspberry with something chocolate. Even the pepper jellies might be yummy on a cheesecake? Possibilities are endless.
Once you open jellies or jam put them in the refrigerator, they will still go bad over time but they will go bad quick sitting out. Can't say how long depending on room temperature, but will last weeks, sometimes months as long as it didn't expire yet.
One thing that do have here in the US is sweet jalapenos, they taste the same but they have no heat. Growing up my mom made homemade applebutter always a favorite she also made elderberry jam which is good also it turns the whites of cooked eggs green which was awesome as a kid because it remined us of Dr. Suess story. Apple butter usually has a very strong taste. I usually get it homemade here in Alabama, so maybe other states make it different. It is good on any buttered bread, biscuit, or cornbread. It is also good on pork chops and ham. I would have any of the jams on top of the salami on top of the cheese on buttered cracker or bread. I often eat bacon, cheese, and jam on a buttered biscuit. Don't worry you're doing it wrong, as we all have our on way of eating it. Meat and cheese trays are common here, especially during football game parties or big gatherings.

We do this...But, instead of jams we use fruit (apples, grapes, strawberries) along with different types of sweet and spicy mustards.
I hope they know to refrigerate the jams once opened.

That looks so delicious! My family always had a cheese tray at Christmas and other holidays. I absolutely love spicy jam/jelly. I hope you both enjoyed the rest of that tray.
What a great charcuterie board! We do similar and it's really based on personal taste! Figs, dates, honey, goats cheese, olives, all sorts of nuts, etc. Funny enough digestive are an English British UK thing, we just have cookies and granola bars etc. Never seen digestives in the store over the years

I grew up eating apple butter! Usually on buttered white bread! Grandma made it and canned it! I sure miss my Grandma Young!!

Recky and Carol when I grew up as a kid the way my mother would always do it she'd take bread like this and cover it real heavily with butter toast it until it was golden brown and then put this stuff on there while it was still warm and I can taste and smell it just thinking about it she'd always do it with French bread and sourdough
Most American grocery stores have what is called deli trays. Exactly the same thing, just pre-made.

We have red and black raspberries. When I was younger, I made all our jams and jellies. While the local Amish-made is better than store-bought, I still miss homemade.
In prior videos, you have mentioned jellies, etc. spoiling. ServSafe recommends being careful to avoid cross-contamination. This occurs when harmful bacteria are transferred from one food to another by means of a non-food surface, such as utensils, equipment or human hands. For example the spatula touching the butter on the cracker and then being dipped into the jellies.

Toast the sliced baguette on a tray in the oven…easy, fast, you can lightly pre-spread a garlic parsley flake and butter mix on both sides…if you can find them, New York bagel chips, garlic flavor (I discovered them in TX and now I can’t find them anywhere)

As long as you don't butter the kitties, your ok. :) ; We put butter on lots of things too - I have found apple butter has a mild apple flavor.
Yesterday for supper, I had a jalapeño jelly with bacon and Swiss cheese grilled in butter sandwich. It is my new favorite thing!!! I think next time I will order it with a different cheese. The cheese had no flavor.

The best versions of apple butter comes from places like churches where you combine apples and cinnamon. Maybe some sliced sourdough bread
I think all those jellies would go well with pork of any sort since pig and fruity sauces are delicious. Salty ham, chops, bbq, bacon, sausage etc. Maybe try the raspberry with something chocolate. Even the pepper jellies might be yummy on a cheesecake? Possibilities are endless.
Once you open jellies or jam put them in the refrigerator, they will still go bad over time but they will go bad quick sitting out. Can't say how long depending on room temperature, but will last weeks, sometimes months as long as it didn't expire yet.
One thing that do have here in the US is sweet jalapenos, they taste the same but they have no heat. Growing up my mom made homemade applebutter always a favorite she also made elderberry jam which is good also it turns the whites of cooked eggs green which was awesome as a kid because it remined us of Dr. Suess story. Apple butter is really good with pork too. One of the best things I ever smelled was a pork loin with a layer of apple butter on top roasting in the oven 🤤🐷🍎

Apple butter usually has a very strong taste. I usually get it homemade here in Alabama, so maybe other states make it different. It is good on any buttered bread, biscuit, or cornbread. It is also good on pork chops and ham. I would have any of the jams on top of the salami on top of the cheese on buttered cracker or bread. I often eat bacon, cheese, and jam on a buttered biscuit. Don't worry you're doing it wrong, as we all have our on way of eating it. Meat and cheese trays are common here, especially during football game parties or big gatherings.

If you can get US style biscuits, just cut the biscuits up and deep fry the dough until golden...slap on the apple butter and you have a real treat!!
