I enjoy watching your updates can see with the entering it final stage why it won't be till the 25-26 season as it will take time for it to nit properly. I'm a little sad though it means old ladies with be dismantled with in 18 months the old girl has given us some grate memories

Great vid , again Mr Drone. But, when you pan along the East Stand, for me at least, it cries out Vents in the Cladding to be balanced out in a symmetrical configuration...
I mentioned this a couple of months back it looked odd to me

In the back of my mind, I know this time next year I will probably be watching drone footage of Goodison Park being demolished.

I'm a red so probably a different perspective from you bluenoses, but i think yous will regret moving from Goodison park. i think over time the friendly (in most part) rivalry will die out and become bitter. the other thing is the atmosphere. Goodison was, on its day, one of the most intimidating places to go, i think Venger said it was his most intimidating stadium. Can you replicate that noise in your new one ? i doubt it. On the other hand it does look Boss

1st match 25th December 1953.
The grey mizzle morning accentuated the steel parts of the stadium today. What's happened to your bright Mister Drone Branded hat(s)?
PoI's:
1) At 2:00 mins and 2:33 mins we can see they have installed the custom-shaped side fencing to the new galvanised steel Tower Gates at the North Vehicular and the north-half of the Southern Gate Towers. I hope to see them start fitting bollards and gates to the southernmost entrance soon, as well as finishing off the very SE corner of the plaza.
2) At 2:19 and 3:16 mins, LoR have at last fitted the 3 sets of pairs of double doors in the East Stand main Portal. The left and central pairs are for the Retail Shop, which is on two floors, with the top floor stretching right across the Main Portal window, and the right-hand pair are for access to the escalators up to the the East Stand Hospitality Lounges.
3) At 2:18 mins and again at 3:20 mins we can appreciate how they've designed the water-effect slabs to be darker nearest the East Stand facade and lighter down the slope to the old Dock Wall Granite Coping Stones in the middle of the plaza.
4) At 3:26 mins, we can see that they are cracking on with the laying of the granite setts between the pump house and the NE corner of the stadium.
5) At 4:36 mins, it looks as though they have at last started to install the South Window 'coving' at the SE end.
6) At 5:22 mins, the OCD-inclined subscribers will now feel relieved that it looks like the '+ shaped' Wind baffles along the Nelson Dock Balustrade will be in line with the 14 South Stand white support steels in a pattern of 2, gap, 2, gap, 2, gap, 2, gap and 2.
7) At 6:54 mins, we can see that the water-effect slabs laid on the concourse to the south of the Movement Joint, in the terrace and concourse, which includes into the southern tunnel, is on a gradient down from the central flat area (follow the line of the bottom front edge of the terracing above).
8) At 7:39 mins, we can see that they have managed to get a little over halfway across from the NE corner with the edging/'fascia' that lips over the Standing-seam roof to the window 'coving'.
9) At 8:10 mins, we can see that the previously white post on the 4th from the end North Stand overhang has now been repainted black and the 2nd and 3rd posts that were previously grey primer are now painted with the white undercoat.
10) At 8:52 mins, it looks as though, in the gap between the NE corner and the Columnar Elm trees, the gap between the lengths of the north perimeter low concrete base wall for the Perimeter Fencing has now shrunk to about a couple of vehicle widths. i expect when they have finished the granite sett-laying, they'll join that low wall up.
11) At 9:23 mins, we can see the hatch and platform structure that will be fitted into the hole for the NW roof access stairway awaits installation.
Re the seeding of the pitch, EFC put out an article on the official website discussing the pitch and it stated clearly that seeding will not be completed until sometime in October so I'd say that starting the seeding is probably about 3 weeks away.
And this is why I do not watch the videos until I have scrolled through the comments first. Thanks for that effort David and for the heads up on what I should be looking for.

Great footage again Nick, a bit of a concern for me is that it looks like the seats below those expansion joints look like the get wet in rainfall, and will that be rectified when they do the final snagging work before it’s handed over
As a Spurs fan, I'm glad that Everton are moving into their new stadium. The visitor's enclosure at the old Goodison Park was a fire hazard with all the wooden seats in there.

Another great video Nick. The undersoil heating pipes should hopefully be finished in the next couple of days, with that sand layer on top also completed. I gather there will be some kind of top soil going over the sand before the turf is finally started? I also wonder will the car parking which Laing O’Rourke staff use, the other side of Nelson Dock, will also be used by the club on Matchday?
They won’t be laying turf - they’re sowing grass seed instead.
The temporary LoR car park isn’t and won’t be owned by EFC - belongs to Peel and is part of their future Liverpool Waters development.
Hi, Great video as usual. The central benches at the top of the stairs facing the Mersey seem significantly taller than the others. I know there is a concrete lip in front but it seems a strange design decision, unless the central ones are tables as opposed to seats.

Great vid as usual. It looks like the stadium is still not watertight, the seats at the north east corner show signs of water at both the upper and lower tiers.
The expansion gap is there, at points along that, the North and East Stand roofs may be as much as 45 cm different in terms of height, that's still being sorted, by trying to bridge that gap and capture any rain that goes between the 2 roofs.
Its in the design to make Man U fans feel at home! 😁

Another great video, Nick. I don't have a question about the video itself but two off topic things. First of all how is your lad who broke his leg doing? i hope he is close to being back to playing footy.
Secondly, on the official site I saw a video which showed a close up of the memorial mooring post dedicated to Michael Jones. I thought it was a shame that they didn't include his middle name. It would have been iconic, yet ironic. Maybe that's why they didn't include "Goodison".
Great comment on the Michael Jones memorial bollard skippy you may well of given the reason why his middle name was not added in your question. Would be good to have an update on your boys progress Nick.
When you look at the south stand, I wonder why two things. 1 they don't 'glass' the middle section and utilise it. 2 The upper seats have a long way up those steps, why don't they open up 2 or 3 exits - stairs that come in to the middle section? The middle section could be used simplistically or meaningfully either way, it's just a wast of space at the moment.

As there seems a bit to do on the West Stand, particularly the water channel, which is fascinating from a civil engineering perspective, it might be easier for you to approach the stand from over the water Nick, you could incorporate taking Mrs Drone to The Ferry Pub? I hear the Fish and Chips is amazing. Just a thought, thanks for the fantastic videos

So are they using the sand from the channel to layer the pitch? Very clever if so.
Peter: I doubt it. The sand being laid on the pitch area will at least have had to be treated by washing out all the salt. The sand that was used in bulk for the dock infill was taken from the bed of the Irish Sea and will have a high salt content, which is not great for a grass 'lawn'. So, whilst it IS possible that they took the sand away for treatment and returned with it after treatment I suspect that they took excess sand away a long time ago and treated it previously.

Great update again Nick, one thing with it raining this week do you know of any plans to build any covered areas on the fan plaza area? Considering 60-70% of the season is through Autumn and Winter and the club want people to arrive early it would have been considered?
The club would prefer the fans arrive early, enter the stadium and start spending their cash

John: I can hazard a guess or two without being sure.
Before pumping in sand at the start of the project, they had to cap/close the valves and pipes through the southern Isolation Bridge, which previously allowed the freshwater in Nelson Dock (from the canals and beyond)(Darker blue water) to migrate into BMD and Sandon Half-Tide Docks that were seawater (blue-green water).The valves that let that happen to a greater or lesser extent before, to allow the natural order of gravity from freshwater to sea have inspection manholes on top of the south Isolation Bridge.
To maintain that order without letting Nelson Dock flood, they've been pumping water from Nelson Dock, and the dribbles that permeated to the BMD bedrock in the Water Channel (hence you can see some water level detectors and pipes inserted in the water channel sand still), along the edge of the West Quay to a large blue tank at the northern end where the water is aerated before then being pumped into Sandon just north of the 'dam' before the northern Isolation Bridge.
So, the most likely way they will carry out the gradual fill will be to turn off the pumps and open the valves in the south Isolation Bridge, ajar, and let a slow ingress. Then, as the water starts to rise up to the top of the dam they'll dig a sluice in it to let the water flow through as they remove the rest of the dam to the sides.

I wonder what they're going to do to fill in the 'gaps' where the old exposed dock wall is in a bad state, mainly in the south-east corner, to prevent it being a trip hazard? Maybe colour match a cement or something to the brick colour?
WIll the gaps at the bottom corners of the roof where it slopes inwards be filled by more metal barrel segments eventually or no?

As a red but still interested in the build, do we have a date when the ‘channel’ is reflooded? Does Evertons responsibility end at the channel or beyond to the riverfront? What is intended to go on land between river and channel? Is it just landscaping? It does look good fair play
The water channel will fill with water very gradually - probably in October.
Peel own the wall adjacent to the Mersey.
Between there and the water channel will be a car park for the owner, Board, shareholders and other VIPs.

I think you mean the south stand. There won’t be an ‘Everton’ sign - they deleted that from the final plans.

I remember one of my first ever matches in 1972 and it was quite a foggy day. We could not see the Park Road end (we were in the Gwladys Street) and you could just about see past the half way line … and that game went on.
Not a question about the stadium,but whenever you fly over Nelson dock you can always see a small white raft have you any Idea what it's for ? It's always baffled me 🤔

Laing O’Rourke won’t be installing the ‘Everton Way’ commemorative stones - EFC are commissioning a separate contractor to complete that task once the stadium has been handed over to the club.

@@johnrimmer5955 I think he must mean the glass on the outside of the upper south stand (there was an Everton sign in the original plan, which was removed from the final design)

Hi Nick great fly around as always mate. Just noticing two items which if possible could you have a closer look in your mid week update. There seems to be new framework to the southeast and south west returns at the lower level where the glasswork has been installed to the bar area, could this be for cladding of new glazing.
Secondly is it my eyes or does the roof show signs of leaks as some seating areas in the southeast corner show wet areas quite high up from the pitch level ? 🫣
