The Warning rocks! This was 5 years ago, you really need to hear them now. Their third album just came out and is incredible. Plus, how anyone can watch three talented young musicians, who actually play their instruments and love playing the metal music we grew up and then a give a thumbs down…must have no soul. Your right about the drummer Paulina (Pau = “pow”) being the brain of the band. Not only does she sing lead on some songs while playing drums, she initially writes and composed most of their songs initially on piano, and she runs any backing track, background graphics, and the guitar footboard programming from the laptop next to her kit. Great reaction and hope to see you react to some of their latest original songs. 👍😎

The Warning Army loves these girls, and they get protective of them. I discovered them via their viral video covering "Enter Sandman" when they were ages 14, 12, and 9 -- so precocious! It's been both fascinating and thrilling to witness their growth and maturation. They have knocked on the door of success, and they are on the verge of kicking it down. You have been warned!

The Villarreal sisters are amazing songwriters and performers. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "Queen of the Murder Scene", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and... It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI Century Blood", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "Escape the Mind"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group last fall. They recently decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed album in an EP called Mayday. "Disciple" is my favorite track!
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 21, 19 and 16 years old and have already written and arranged #44 original songs all by themselves! The oldest, Dany (Daniela) plays guitar, keyboards, lead vocals on 75% of their songs, backing harmonies. Pau (Paulina) plays drums, keyboards, lead vocals on 25% of their songs, backing harmonies. Ale` (Alejandra) plays bass, keyboards, backing harmonies. The drummer Pau writes around 75% of their songs. In her songs, she starts with a concept, then works on chord progressions and basic song structure on piano while adding lyrics. She then brings it before her sisters and together they transpose each individual instrument's part; making changes along the way. They also complete the lyrics together; since Pau may only bring one verse and a chorus. All 3 must unanimously approve of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Nothing is set in stone until it makes it through the gauntlet. Pau has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both Dany and Ale` write equally great songs; just not as many. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.

Welcome to The Warning's World
As the legend behind this tribute performance goes, the Villarreal sisters (AKA The Warning) had not even heard this song off Metallica's Livewire album until about 4 days before recording this. Classically trained, they rearranged this song for a 3-piece. Musical geniuses, and now superstars!
As for the dual vocals. Yes, they do that in some songs, most recently in Disciple which is my new favorite. Also a few others. The guitarist is their main lead vocalist but the drummer does take the lead in a number of songs all the way through, Narcisista (in Spanish) and Dust to Dust which is the first song on the 2nd album Queen of the Murder Scene, their rock novel. Many react to Queen of the Murder Scene in it's entirety in order to get the whole story.
Nice! I find it odd that you chose this cover as your intro to the Warning. The video was recorded by their father who is their co-manager and head roadie. This was also done in concert two years ago at the Whisky a Go Go - see video. They have 38 original songs in 2 EP's, 2 albums and six singles. They recently released their second EP with six songs, four of which have music videos. They also did a brand new cover of Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. They are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico - Dany, guitarist 21; Pau, drummer 19; Ale, Bassist 16. In this video they were 17, 15, and 12. There is no "brains" of the operation. They all contribute equally. Dany is the principal vocalist even though all sing. While Pau can sing and drum at the same time, Dany is playing lead and rhythm at the same time.You need to hear their most recent EP released on October 8th - they have realized their potential.

You do need to see more. This was a cover from their home studio. They are have two full albums, the second of which is a "concept album" or "rock novel". They write their own songs and as of now they are still only 21, 19 and 16 years old. They have a 3rd album coming out and have released half of it as an EP. There are great videos of 4 of the 6 songs: Choke, Evolve, Matirio (sung in Spanish) and Disciple and all are very good. The other two songs, also good, have audio only clips. They got noticed when they were 14, 12 and 9 doing Enter Sandman and now have recorded the first track on Metallica's Blacklist album seven years and have re-invented Enter Sandman in a collaboration with singer songwriter Alessia Cara. I think you will be impressed with The Warning if you continue to react to them.

Plus there is another MV recently released of their cover of 'Enter Sandman' with Alessia Cara that is on Metallica's Blacklist album, is being played by Fox Sports, and is in Marvel's upcoming Midnight Suns game.

They just dropped their songs Dust to Dust and Dull Knives Live at Pepsi Centre Mexico City, as two songs in one video. The drummer is lead singer in Dust to Dust and guitarist is lead singer in Dull Knives. Be prepared to be blown away.

The one recording this was their father who is not a musician but supports them 100%. They are not metal per say but they have metal influences. This was a great performance, an awesome song and I feel the Warning did it better, but for me, I feel their version done at the Whisky a Go Go (Feb. 2019, from their YT channel) is way better, everything just flowed smoothly in that one. The Warning just knows how to rock!
There is no brain of this band per se, they all participate in composing/writing songs, Dany & Pau trade-off on leads on certain songs, and occasionally Ale will step up and take the lead when either of them feels sick to where they can't. Are the Warning amazing.... "YES"

It is a cover from 3 people and not 4 so before even watching that should already have been in consideration. I have never actually heared the original and so I just appreciated their musicanship including Dany killing the solo

@@APREACTS ordinarily I would wholeheartedly agree with you about listening to the original before a cover, or afterwards if you came across the cover first, but there are exceptions. When the cover totally outshines the original and when as in this person's case, you are a fan of the band that made the cover but not a fan of the original song. Myself, I have heard this song many times even though I'm not a huge Metallica fan and I never thought this was a great song. I have listened to this version more because I am amazed at what 3 can do and not obsessed with what they can't. I much prefer their original music to anything I've heard from Metallica ( I know. Sacrilege.) I guess I'm just a trio kinda guy. 2 or 3 guitars can really fill out the sound, but all you really need are those 3 instruments to make a great rock song.

I'm not a metal fan so I've never listened to Metallica's version and don't feel the need to. Therefore, I have no pre-conceptions about how a cover of Atlas Rise is supposed to sound. I listen to The Warning's version because I like the Warning and it sounds great to me.
Check out this video when the girls played *Atlas Rise* at The Whisky from 2018. They played a special show (Kickstarter reward) for special fans. This song was their encore (after nearly two hour show) that night.

I think that what makes this version interesting is that its a power trio, and their energy is hard to match, really.
This is old, and not their best. They were 16, 14, and 11 at the time.
Listen to some of their original work. If you want to really see the drummer (Paulina) singing and drumming watch either "Dust to Dust" at Lunario or "Narcisists" at Foro Didi.
For better Metallica covers, listen to their original cover of "Enter Sandman" from 2014 and their recent cover of the same song (from the Metallica Blacklist album, with Alessia Cara).
Their recent songs are "Choke" (I would suggest the live version), "Evolve", "Martirio", "Disciple", "Z", and "Animosity". The last two don't have videos, but all are worth a listen.

as a guitarist, bassist, vocalist, and sometimes drummer, I personally find bass is WAY harder to play while singing, drums are in the middle (for coordination, NOT for physical exhaustion where they are hardest of course), and guitar plus vocals CAN be easiest.... but it depends what you are playing on guitar while you sing.

The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ma. A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. The Warning is totally fan-funded through Patreon, RUclips and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever!
So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on RUclips and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star.
On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021. All that remains as of 22/02/21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end of 2021.
In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica ablum. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song...

Their stuffs are BRILLIANT! I recommend you react to XXI Century Blood (from 1st album), and then Disciples, Choke, Evolve, and Martirio (from their latest EP).

Neither is the ability to understand that not everyone sees things as you do, and might have a different opinion. After all this channel is not a circle jerk among simps but rather a place where we discuss music and share our opinions. If you want to only be in a bubble of similar like minded people there are other places were you can obtain that satisfaction. This is not one of them.

What's disappointing is as musicians you failed to recognize that the their youth and a trio singing in their 2nd language are what made everyone else realize how special these exceptional musicians, songwriters and composers they are witnessing. 17, 15 and 13....good luck sirs.

I think you missed the point. This is a three-piece and fixing on the idea that it would have sounded fuller with another guitar ... well, duh!
I would have loved to hear your knowledgeable opinion on how a trio could have done better, or if the arrangement to achieve it with only one guitar and the bass was good or bad.
As other commenters mentioned, the version from Whiskey a Go Go is better and the place was rocking. And they also played it to end a 2-hour session!.
Beyond that, I doubt this group will ever be your cup of tea. They are not deep metal at all. Their thing is straight rock, sometimes a bit hard or punk. Pop sounds will appear now and then.

complaining that a band that is a power trio doesn't sound like it has 2 guitars is kind of bizarre. I mean, talk about stating the obvious. The singer is playing lead guitar and rhythm guitar in this, which is way tougher than how they do it in metallica, and also the bass playing in this version by a young girl is INCREDIBLE, as is the drum playing, and the drummer sings too in this group. These girls are better musicians than hetfield and lars in metallica. And guess what, James hetfield isn't flawless every single night.... he's very good, but not perfect.
I'd also rather hear a band playing it for real than a polished music video and overtracked studio version with dubbed in fixes and pitch correction and timing correction.
Your comprehension is lacking. Not complaining, rather saying that this specific song doesn’t work with one guitar at least not in its original arrangement. Had they covered Nirvana’s In Bloom it would have been fine

Another reactor loved the girls skills on this song, but gave the song itself a hard pass. He is not a big Metallica fan.
