All the different oddities and variations to Transformers is what makes it so great. I don't have a ton of random weird Transformers to be honest, but one I have that comes to mind it the 07 movie line Stockade. Didn't appear in the movie, had a minor role in a tie in comic but for whatever reason I just think the toy is super cool.
Personally, I don't have any weird figures that fit this sorta criteria that you're covering, but I do have an interest in the ROTF Teradive mold, definitely considering picking it up or getting the Space-Case version from DOTM.
This was the perfect video that I needed to see. I am very much trying to get into transformers and trying to "Learn the market" of it all. The Legacy Armada figures have sparked my love and first toy line, that being the old '03 Armada series, and really want to find a Starscream. There is so much fun in learning and transforming a satisfying figure, and hope to build up the money to buy those upcoming armada figures in stores around here and maybe even a cool-looking cassette player shockwave being a retro media enjoyer. Additionally, as a toy photographer, seeing a transformer whose alt mode is literally a canon camera is SO cool, and hope to find a decent price on one. Great back to back videos my man, keep up the great work!
Really great video, I hope this reaches many newer collectors. You are right, it goes very deep! If you do a part two I would recommend covering Masterpiece, 3rd Party Masterpiece scale, 3rd party Legends scale, upgrade kits, repro and other stickers. :) I first got into the Transformers in 1984 as a kid, and as an adult got into collecting them in the early 2000s with Binaltech, Music Label, and Masterpiece. These days I collect a bit of everything, but try to stick to G1 characters so it doesn't get too too out of hand. I think every Transformers fan should get at least one or two Masterpieces of the characters they really love. I just got MP-57 Skyfire in the mail today... it's a wonder to behold. I haven't even transformed him yet, still taking in the jet mode, which is magnificent. Pictures and videos do not do this thing justice, it's huge, beautifully detailed and full of features which are thoughtful callbacks to episodes and the original toy.
10:26 there was a cancelled revival of the transforming Kronoform watch that was supposed to be like the music label line. The revived kronoform watch line would’ve been a digital watch version of the 80s toy.
A little while back I picked up the Japanese version of 2000 RiD Galvatron from a collectibles shop for like $15, had the instructions and everything but no missiles. I bought it just because I knew how absurd that mold is. Sometimes the goofy side if Transformers can be the most fun.
Haha I love Treasure Isles! Been collecting TF since 2021 and I'm now starting to get into the weird stuff. Stuff like the Arms Micron and Device Label lines. I still need to get that Broadblast USB hub.
Haha - I just picked up that Depthcharge to add a "modern" version of the character to my Kingdom/BW shelf. He's pretty involved as transformation goes for a deluxe; but damn, he's fun and holds up really well.
If I remember correctly, Valvotron was rotocast, thus accounting for his light weight. If you can ever get the clear pack he came in, it was shaped like the oil can and it makes for a nice display piece with the figure.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve been looking at older figures that look cool to me. 07 movie Wreckage and the ROTF Bludgeon repaint with the cool purple blades. I’ve recently gotten into wanting to get all of the Heralds of Unicron and I never knew there were so many more than Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge and they’re so cool looking. Also been making my own Mercenary group and a little Multiverse crew as well.
Could you do a video explaining the classes and scales because it seems like they change them every 5 minutes which has been making things harder for me to get into the toys
Hey J4 how many Transformers Alternators do you have? I was going to get into them because I saw them on Ebay when I was younger in 4th grade but I never did
I have Depth Charge, Terradive and Depth Charge is a very good mold and I love that figure, I am never gonna sell him especially since he is starting to go up in price, I scored mine for 10 bucks and now I see him selling for 30 dollars. Also I love Stockade ad my only Japan figure I thing is Corahda. I do not have Greenlight but I have several obscure characters lol. Also I did not know Music Label did Soundblaster too lol. Valvotron goddamn it XD I have been hunting a GDO Swerve as he has the same idea but is an actual figure, oh hey he cameoed! Also I low key love Altenators. Also I have Packrat from the T30 mold from that same botcon set with Movie Megatron from Prime Breakdown but damn Breakdown is rare (I am hunting the original Fractyl and Packrat tho). Also Actionmasters they are adorable, also G1 figures are too expensive for my tastes more often than not. And again with the obscure Beast Era toys like Galvatron I covered with Cohrada. ALSO careful with Galvatron he is a GPS prone figure with his drill
I find this aspect of collecting FASCINATING! I’d enjoy a deep dive like this on 3.75” Star Wars figures!
The older I get, the more I adore the obscure and weird things of action figure collecting, especially with Transformers and Godzilla
it's these obscure, unappreciated toy only characters that, once we get them, makes us love the franchise even more!

That Depth Charge is still one of the *SICKEST* jet-formers ever.

These oddities are why I love transformers.

4:42 I never knew that!!!!!!! Now we need a Gen selects version that is a direct repaint from prime Knockout!!!!!!

I have hftd Axer, but my copy has loose ball joints in his arms, which likes to pop off when transforming back and again

Yellow is a very obscure color for Decepticons
9:12 I am him, I am the "In the wild collector only" guy and I will hunt until my final breath in stores primarily.
Seeing Decepticharge from Alternators makes me wish Legacy remade Alternators figures someday :D
Tbh the alternators line gave off a tf Cybertron vibe. The vehicles modes were amazing while the robot modes looked very weird and unproportional.
Could you do a video explaining the classes and scales because it seems like they change them every 5 minutes which has been making things harder for me to get into the toys
Almost a year ago i saw a valvatron in a store in box for i think like 15 bucks and i regret not buying it.
I LOVE VALVOTRON! got one not too long ago still in package!
It's black Soundwave. That is the best line I have ever heard in awhile
You should do this type of video for other franchises like Star Wars and Gundam, that'd be sick.
Music label needs to come back I want a proper Soundwave that uses a micro SD card.
Dose gallvatron suffer GPS
Not as far as I know! But I'm still careful with the gold bits.
Hey J4 how many Transformers Alternators do you have? I was going to get into them because I saw them on Ebay when I was younger in 4th grade but I never did
I have never seen scattered shot every one else I have
As a Swede, I order my transformers online (because they are expensive here)

Side note, semantics but it's Beast Wars Second, not two.
I got all the weird ones first! I have green light but no bumblebee!
But why why why do you LIKE galvatron
Im I weird because I honestly prefer siege Optimus figure over the earthrise?
And no I'm not copeing because I missed it
No you're correct
Eh. I only have siege, but Earthrise looks infinitely better. I was coping at first but I’ve come to accept Earthrise is better
@@TMNTransformerz The main thing that weighs down earthrise prime (for me, at least) is the missing paint on his nose. Looks like a ko without it
@@tarnishedspark511 that’s fair, but EXTREMLY minor compared to all the issues of siege. Plus, you can just switch the heads.
c o p e
Okay seriously, Siege Prime is an awesome figure, but I prefer Earthrise. And as mentioned, the heads can be swapped. I swapped mine. lol
7:58 Greenlight 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Yeah your right JAPAM does get the best things exclusives to them. My personal favorite Japanese exclusive thing in Japan is Kiss Players
Eeeeeeeeeeewww
Missing its misle Lancer still worth it
Question: would you say transformers is your *main* fandom nowadays?
Absolutely. Especially toy-wise, and toys are my main thing.
I bought Greenlight off eBay. How much did I pay? Don't ask!
I don't have femine figures besides airazor and blackarania
Should I be punished for buying the Tacticon Prime?
I mean I bought it! lol
We both must be punished. :(
Valvatron looks power rangers instead of transformers lol.
Ps I just got collectors club barricade
The Prime Prowl repaint? That one is SO cool. Wish I had it! I do have Chromedome from Wheeljack tho!
It was missing Its misle lather
Still worth it
Ravage FlashDrive
That Galvatron is something special, everything else...meh.
Yo
