I learn something new from you every single video I watch. I've never heard of a blow-in before & I'm amazed how well that turned out lol. thanks for doing what you do man!

    Hey what a coincidence I needed to see this it’s very helpful and great timing of this video being posted. I have to do a blow in today from a burn through I did yesterday trying to remove a small tap line from overspray that went further under my soft edge than I had planned on! I took you’re advice and just went out there and just started spraying for my first time with a spray gun and ended up respraying the front bumper and side view mirror only twice but resprayed the hood and two front fenders 4 times and ended up learning so much especially cause I had my girlfriend record me so I could go back and watch each coat to see what I was doing that needed to be changed and it helped so much! I tiger striped the hood the first two times spraying a silver metallic for first time probably didn’t help but the I realized I was not holding gun at a 90 degree angle when spraying the hood and I fixed it on third spray and wayla no more tiger stripes but I went tacked the side fender and then went to tack the hood and smeared the paint cause t wasn’t dry haha so that’s why I had to respray a 4th time but I’m thankful because I got a lot of practice! Thanks for all you’re knowledge and help!

    • @jakefriesenjake
      @jakefriesenjake 2 года назад +1

      @@waynewilliams5802 I think blender is put on where the new clear coat ends. If you didn't use blender, and just stoped the clear coat in the spot, then there would be a a line, or some dry overspray that wouldn't stick, or you could see where the new clear ended. Blender melts the old clear coat, into the new coat you just sprayed.
      No blender needed on the blow in of the base coat because it got 2 full coats of clear, going straight to the end of the panal.

    • @ericbrixen8811
      @ericbrixen8811 2 года назад

      Plastic adhesion promoter is to help bonding to problem plastics. You are not spraying onto problem plastic, you are spraying onto existing clear coat.

    When you say 5000 that is referring to 5000 grit sandpaper correct? 5000 on the far right side over to the left where your non clear coated side is you're about to clear coat. So when you add clear coat there will be a little that dont get touched because your 5000 grit sandpaper section is that wall between where your clear coat is and where clear coat isnt and the blender will tie it all together?
