Very good representation of the manufacturing process and the labor involved in making these beautiful models in different scales. This also explains the cost of these models. I wish Marklin / LGB many decades of success and hope that the next generation has the interest in model trains as much as the last generation did. Thanks for the video. Peter.
I was thinking about the same. I don't know if the Chinese manufacturing was stopped because of the quality issue or because Marklin had financial problems back than. Labour cost in Hungary is also getting slowly more expensive, I hope they can keep the margin using more technology/automation. This is not a family owned business any more, so they have to keep growing and show the numbers. Talking to the staff there I was told that on Friday most of the club members were pensioners, so there is little sign of the next generation being interested in the hobby. Or at least not to that extent as it was before. But I would love to see myself proven wrong.

Actually it is not true. If you look for example at the "my world" products and some others they are still made in China.
