Wow! That brought back memories. I lived in Longview Lane from 1948 to 1970 and remember the old POW huts. They were empty and stood there for a long time after WW2. Me and our kid and our mates found ammo and swastikas and stuff. We were bashing a bullet with a hammer when a copper came along and confiscated our swag lol. Great memories and I didn't recognise the place now.
My dad used to often talk about the camp and the flak guns situated down there. He lived on East prescott rd not far from the old swimming baths at Dovecot. The family moved into Westfield ave, Broadgreen around that time, he,s still around and celebrated his 90th just before xmas.
