I love the round format and the encouragement to just try out a few colors and see how they work( or play ) with each other. I am really tired of people complaining about the need to learn color theory. Everyone wants to “learn to paint “ before they understand their paints and what the colors do for each other. Thank you so much for your instruction and encouragement!
Sandy, you always amaze me. Thanks for the step-by-step explanations for your paintings. I am so excited to learn more about watercolor in your Watercolor Jumpstart class!
So awesome what you accomplished with so few colors. I'm guilty of wanting "all the colors" instead of mixing. I'm getting better, but old habits die hard! TFS
Thank you for demonstrating this fantastic painting! I enjoy mixing my colors although who doesn’t like those special colors once in a while. I was fascinated by the color mixes you made..who would have thought?! I really need to play with my paints more. Someone suggested making color wheels using different primaries to see what you can get. I took your color theory class…I’m thinking I should review it! BTW…it’s an awesome class! I’m a participant in World Watercolor Month….see you there! Nell
Making color wheels from different colors is one thing, but what’s really gonna show you the power of it is mixing those colors and painting a scene or a flower or an object❤️
@@SandyAllnock1 Would you suggest taking different colors as primaries with an extra color like you did ? That was an eye opener …really makes me want to try something…a scene or simple still life. I paint every day…trying to get in my brush miles! I strictly paint watercolors but have signed up for your beginner (basic) gouache course. One of the artists I follow said you should mix up and paint with a different medium for a bit then go back to watercolors. I’m hoping the class goes really good so I can sign up for you “green” gouache course…..and your watercolor classes…. The trees and the puddles and rocks.
Horse shoes and hand grenades. I love it!!😂
I loved the idea of using the bowls! I would have never thought of sending them off to another artist!

Being a native of AZ and a lifelong resident, I'm thrilled to see your wonderful artwork today. It's great you encourage kids to learn art!
Love your work Sandy. Love watching you work. Thank you for this. Karen from Canada

Fabulous!
I use an old credit card to take the paper off the block or the leaf you get from Baohong paper. Lovely paintings. Great inspiration!
Great tip!
this is so gorgeous!! ❤
I love this!❤️

@@nellkrams3698 primaries are always good fun!
This is exactly what I needed today. I'm struggling with a limited pallette and a field of yellow flowers. You helped me out tremendously ❤😊
Glad I could help!
