- In today’s video, we’re looking at the call of the Adidas Samba sneaker. but the Samba is simply a blip in the timeline of the long-standing influence of the German Army Trainer in the world of stylish footwear. We look at some of the origins of the infamous Adidas vs. Puma conflict, and the vague development of the standard issue sneaker. We’ll also look at the GAT’s competition, with numerous brands looking to make their own versions of the mass manufactured surplus basic, with each adding their own spin. Finally, we look at some styling ideas for outfits working with the Sambas and the GATs as a timeless foundation piece that has incredible versatility and style.

Fantastic video. A lot of history, a lot of fashion, a lot of calm and serene talking with great visuals. I really like this channel.

I’ve got the black Puma version. Scored a nice deal for $70 Aus. Slick video mate, all the best .
@@mctruehunter thanks my man! A true classic and a sweet price - nice find!
The USA don’t seem to have had the same emergence of terrace clothing that the UK and European countries had with adidas shoes at the fore although Argentina and a few more southern countries did
@@habl00pep it’s true - USA is a little late to the game on that one!
My first pair bought after being robbed touring Europe. At a market as the Berlin Wall came down
@@habl00pep jeez what a time and a place for that story! Couldn’t get more authentic than that!
@@SomeNotesonStyle will point out the gents in Marseille on the journey to there who robbed were jovial and polite letting me keep some stuff when they found I was a CelticFC fan 🙂 but flip flop weren’t for German weather
@@habl00pep 😂 that’s hilarious! At least they kept their manners! I guess what could’ve been a bad journey at least gave you a funny memory!
So you're telling me I'm wearing Hitler shoes this whole time?
@@hixta 😂 well you know, history can always move on, and the Brothers Dassler are long gone - so they’ve had plenty of time to rework their gnarly past! No need to hold a grudge forever, I suppose…
