I love how down to earth, and proud of who he is. So many asian people for some reason are afraid or try to hide any semblance of their culture and stuff they grew up with. He is not embarrassed, not ashamed, and proud but not alienating! I wish I had people like him to up to growing up. Not fake, not pretentious. Not trying to fit in, but he easily does. Love this guy!!

Well to be fair he's not really a celebrity per say. He had a couple roles but he was always more of a stuntperson. Shang Chi is definitely his breakout role and hopefully one that will lead him to a long and successful career cuz he deserves it!!! :)

As an asian person that also eats Shrimp Chips, Rick Crackers, and Pockys, they are definitely amazing snacks. Also bubble tea, an iconic asian drink, is definitely my favorite drink.

I thoroughly enjoyed Shang Chi. Action packed, but family friendly so I can watch it with my young kids. Really looking forward to seeing where they go with Shang Chi

As someone who's the same age as him, and also Chinese (though there's millions of us out there), it felt like watching a schoolmate talking about the things we grew up with. BBT, snacks, xbox, nba etc. This was really nice to watch :) and wishing him the best in the MCU!

I honestly loved Shang Chi I also remember watching Kim’s Convenience’s Store with my family and whenever you came out we loved your acting and your personality KEEP IT UP!

@@sfong9633 omg vitasoy is so good theyre more popular among chinese or hk kids I think maybe thats why you might not see it often, but they have a variety of diff flavors theyre know for their soy milk drinks but the one simu is showing is the lemon tea! I grew up with that, its delicious and refreshing
If it wasn't for my friends in 3rd grade; I would have never been introduced to the wonderful world of eastern snacks. I put my fam & other friends on asian snacks there on after. As soon as I met my in-laws, they were wondering how I knew game & about all the snacks. Like "I got introduced at a early age" 😊😎
I lived in Toronto Ontario, now California. Never had an issue with any of those snacks.

And know the languages, have the appeal to those countries (whose criteria of beauty he doesn't fit), knowing their customs and cultures would be another thing as well . . . social climates, etc. A lot of countries don't take kindly to others who don't know their customs and language. Japan, China, Korea, etc. don't all get along due to imperialism, etc.

my Asian girlfriend introduced me to those snacks, mainly shrimp chips and the shredded squid and she was embarrassed to do so but was shocked when I absolutely loved them. She told me how people used to make fun of her too for her funny smelling snacks. People really need to open their eyes to Asian culture.
weird, I live in New York City and back in middle school everyone would flock to the asian kids because they brought in the best snacks for lunch (ppushu ppushu, orion chips, choco boy, hello panda). There was no disrespect because everyone loved the snacks so much lol

i'm glad that us asians are finally getting the superhero representation that we need. I loved that the backstories were well-developed (ESP wenwu) && that there was a cultural depth to this movie that was not difficult to comprehend, yet allowing us to appreciate chinese culture. simu was phenomenal and this role was really suited for him!!! i love this man istg && i can't wait to see what is in store for him and meng'er in the future xx
