Let's dive into tips and tricks to get better at changing chords smoothly and quickly!
1:32 - Tip #1
Choose a chord you know REALLY well and make sure each string rings out and sounds good.
2:42 - Tip #2
Be mindful of what each of your fingers is doing when playing chords.
3:21 - Tip #3
Spend time playing the chord and then releasing your hand entirely.
4:14 - Tip #4
Keep checking in! Whenever you do the on-and-off exercise, make sure the chord you're playing still sounds how it should.
5:05 - Tip #5
Isolate two chords at a time. Try with the two most difficult chords you know!
7:07 - Tip #6
Always think ahead of what your next chord change is going to be.
8:20 - Tip #7
Start on the root note of the chord when switching to buy some time for the rest of your fingers to fall into place.
8:54 - Tip #8
Sometimes there are common tones between chords and you can find anchor points.
9:41 - Tip #9
Practice without looking at your fretting hand.
13:03 - Tip #10
Start by playing power chords but slowly replace them with bar chords until you're comfortable playing only bar chords.

HAHAHA
🤣🤣🤣
Bro, you're a legend LOL
@@jotherman8113 😂😂 haven't looked back since.
Lol ☺
She has to be the best guitar teacher in the world. No mindless noodling, just clear and practical advice.
I love how she explains everything. I'm a established guitar player, I watch these videos to help me teach my own students. Love how you explain things. Thank you.
And she's always smiling. It's cute.
Ayla, you're so considerate for not assuming how many hands I have.
Thank you.
Just hearing her say it took her a long time getting comfortable with changing chords automatically gave my confidence with my learning a big boost
Ayla! You and the the vibe you let people feel.❤️ Good luck.🙏
Thankyou so much for putting time stamps in the description!! So many channels avoid this just to keep viewers watching till the end. But you've made this video so much more useful with the timestamps. Thank you so much!
Great content as always
I really enjoy your lessons.
They’re easy to follow.
So glad to have found you and your channel.
I think you’re great 😊
Ditto G
You are my new favorite guitar teacher! Such a pleasant and positive vibe 🙂Thanks Ayla
After 50 year playing I still feel it's great to brush up on the basics. The power chord, (also known as the 5 chord (A5, D5, etc) is a great way to play what I like to call economic fingering) allows you to stay within 4 frets of any given chord progression. Really helpful when there are dozens of chords in a given measure, by playing the chords on the higher octaves as well as the lower.
It would have been a game changer if I had you as my teacher when I was younger. I've learned so much, at a pace I'm very comfortable with & the approach has me actually waking up wanting to practice.
What amazing color you bring to the world Ayla!
Great lesson, Ayla! Very useful! I appreciate that you haven’t forgotten what it’s like to be a beginner. Thx!
this is unintentional ASMR for me, I get the chills and tingles the minute you start talking. But the main reason I'm here is to be as good as you at guitar. thanks for being awesome
You're so calm and kind and your lessons are really helpful

You rock, thank you so much. I have heard this many times in my tiny year of playing acoustic, but you nailed it and delivered it in a fashion that resonated with me. I got so much from this, and its made a terrific difference. Thank You. 🙏❤ Oh, and now I’m learning Lola😀

Dear heart not only are you a great artist you are one fantastic teacher and how right you are, learn, practice, practice and as the beatles John lennon once sang I've got blisters on my fingers. Rock on sweetie. Mitch.

Ayla, you are awesome.
I've trained thousands how to use computers. Hired my own staff years ago. I would have hired you in a heartbeat.
Just awed by your expertise, positive nature, and upbeat clean humility in teaching guitar.
As a beginner of 6+ months I have come to rely on a few Internet guitar superstars. You are now one of them :)
Thank you so much.

Thanks for the lesson:) it’s gonna help very much I think🎸

I love your tip to take your finger on and off. Patience is really important when learning guitar
Love these videos! Ayla is really teaching me how to improve. Now I need some work on my guitar.. the fretboard has contracted over time and my frets are little razors to avoid.. live in Colorado and yes we get snow and rain.. but it is still semi-arid and wood can dry out even with humidifiers.. but thank you Kayla!
Frank from Boulder, Colorado, US

Hi Ayla, glad I watched. I wouldn't have guessed Lola was that simple to play! And, now I can replace those icky barre chords with power chords!! Yippee!! I like your guitar, I have an identical one in candy apple red, plus I have the next size up (champaign color) from the series 🎸
So glad I finally found a great beginner yt
love u Ayla ❤.... you are awesome
Wish I could have these many different fabulous guitars and the skills to match having them.
Great lesson
Aylaaaaaa is a gem ❤
Thank you
Thanks so much ! These videos are very cool and usefull
thanks for the tips ...you are awesome
I dig that guitar chic. thank u for the vids
Always enjoy your videos! Nice to see a Fender acoustic. I have a red Malibu. When I first pick up the guitar I can do pretty well on chord changes but then over time it starts to get sloppy (like on D sometimes I'll just slide the high e string right off the fretboard). I guess I need to head to the finger gym (or maybe put 10s on instead of 11s). Dminor and 3-string B minor are ones where I have trouble landing on them consistently. my index finger has the trigger finger problem so I haven't been able to barre with it.
These tips are helpful. My biggest challenge in this area is the intro to the song, Love's Holiday by Earth, Wind & Fire. They're $20 chords played at quarter note timing!
pick up and play every day has me so much even if I have time just to play skills or fundamentals, great job!
Best way to learn chords is take a simple song sing along with recorded version in the same key, capo if required, this gives you tempo, rhythm and bonus it’s lot of fun to sing along with your favs, pick simple chords and repeat until perfect! This is best way to learn!
Thanks for the Bonus "Lola" Lesson! 10:49 Great "Lola" playout at 15:30
Amazing lesson. For me C Major to G Major is a bit of a struggle but I'm working on it.
i love you ayla
Helpful :)
Thank you so much 🇳🇵
I have the same color electric fender , super pretty with the acoustic body too
Excellent
thank you!
you are a good tutor
Thanks! Great tips! I'm better at scales than chords (because scales are much easier than chords), so these tips are very helpful! Great channel!
I thought Chords was Harder to Learn than Scales.!
Thankx a lot,,
Great video
Ii love your guitar.
Great stuff! For me, changing from F to B-flat minor is hard.
I love you ayla you are so good 😊
That guitar is so cool.
Holy - my name IS Ayla! haha thanks for sharing this helpful video!
I cracked up when she said "Your name is probably not Ayla" 😂
I definitely subscribed!

ciao....fantastic lesson.....
hello beautiful !! I am sooooo happy I found you! your a woman guitar teacher! I have been learning from men as a beginner this last year as they are the most popular on youtube and you make it 10000 times better to learn, Go Woman Power !! I love love love your channel already ...fantastic lessons and great delivery... xxx
LOL! Talented, funny, and a great instructor as well! "My name is Ayla. Your name is not Ayla." That made me chuckle. "Niecho. Pronounced like NEE'ko, a nickname for Nicholas. A pleasure to meet you! I'll be signing up for Guitareo lessons I am sure within a month-ish!" I've noticed watching videos of others starting to learn, I'm noticing things just to watch out for myself such as transitions, keeping the rhythm / strumming steady even if it takes my fret hand a bit to catch up, etc. You seriously inspire your viewers to think they CAN do this. Well done!
Hey I like your teaching,i lost my index finger awhile back in the eighths the last four years I have picked up the guitar, I found playing in A format I play C cord 5fret D,7fret and so on.And as writing my own songs
I wish you success despite your loss. I know you will still sound good as its the heart that comes through and not some triviality such as fingers
Patience is the first step. 🤞👍
First of all beautiful guitar
Like my teacher always said: " Again " "Again" and Repeat previous instructions.
Great tutorial. Ty
I love her sound
Again you rock lady. Again God bless. Keep rockin girl. Mitchell Magee stafford Virginia.
