    I like horses too, but you mustn't overcook them they get tuff. I have a wire money coin..and yes Ivan the Terrible. They extruded the metal into wire, flattened it and stamped a design Crude but effective.

    Great finds in this video. Have any of your finds gone to a museum? What can you keep out of your finds ? . Keep looking for that hoard I’m sure the tow of you will find a big one .

    • @TrueVikings
      @TrueVikings  3 года назад +2

      Yes, many of the finds have gone to museum. The regulations depend on the country, but like in Finland you have to report everything older than 100 years old. Some items they want, some you can keep. :)

    Hi Vikings! I am curious about what methods you use when searching such large large fields. Where do you start? Do you start on the sides or in the middle? Do you grid the field into smaller areas and search each sectioned area, or do you just walk in random directions? I always feel very overwhelmed when I search such large fields because the area is so huge. Looking forward to your answer! Take care!

      Hi Frenchy, good question. Usually when we get permission for a new field we first walk through it diagonally and along the edges. After that we focus on the areas with most iron signals (and found treasures). More iron in the ground means more human activity which means more ppl around dropping treasure. Hope this helped you a bit, good luck out there!

      @@TrueVikings Thank you for your quick reply! This is a very helpful comment, thank you for your insight and wisdom. I will try these suggestions on my current permissions. If you ever travel to Slovenia, you are welcome to get in touch with me if you need a place to stay or just to have a metal detecting adventure. Plenty of history to be discovered! Good luck and may Odin smile upon you!

      Hey Frenchy, no problems happy to help out a fellow detectorist. Thank you for your offer, we are very interested in traveling to Slovenia actually to film a new season. I hear its a beautiful part of the world. Once this pandemic settles down of course. Have you had any luck on your fields so far?

    • @Frenchy88

      @@TrueVikings That would be epic! You guys are so fun to watch it would be cool to see you explore these parts as well. Yes, it is a very beautiful country and because it is so small it is easy to see all the cool places. I have been metal detecting for a year now and have plenty of permissions from local farmers. I have found some pretty nice things so far, but still waiting to find some gold. Just in my area I have found silver coins, Christian pendants and crosses, a few roman coins, musket balls, pocket watch covers, rings, and of course plenty of trash for recycling. I am so happy to have found such a fun hobby which allows me to explore nature and history.
