Epic needs to change their philosophy on when they consider giving a new style to skins. It should be: - Favor giving styles to underperforming skins (sales and usage) to boost their value and popularity - When deciding a style for a skin, ALWAYS consider doing the same style for the entire set the outfit is part of, including their counterparts - Create a balance on how often male and female outfits receive a new style (cannot sway too much in one way or another) Their current philosophy is just uninteresting and annoying. Giving styles to already top selling/popular skins. Giving the styles to small portion of the set, and in some cases, ignoring their counterpart as a result. And it heavily sways to females receiving more new styles than male outfits, because of Epic focusing on mostly popular skins, which are female outfits
You said everything needed to be said about the edit style philosophy. Couldn’t said it better myself. You’re the voice of reason in the community, I wish more people were like you 👍👍
I primarily play as male skins. I'm an old rpg gamer, and I always wanted to play as a character I could immerse myself in fully, so I always chose a male since that's the gender I am and relate to. That feeling carried over into pre established characters and skins in other games too. I've always noticed how little attention Epic gives to male skins. The female counterpart is usually normal looking or cutesy, and the male is usually an ugly caricature or creature. Was especially disappointed they decided to exclude Guild from the minty style that Aura got, since both of the minty variations of that set leaked together. And minty Guild got scrapped :/
Kinda late on this lol but I really was expecting a new style for Guild. I do own Aura, but I rarely ever use her because I don’t want to get mistaken as a “pro player” or sweat. It sucks now! If Epic can stop adding new things like TikTok emotes and/or other cosmetics that include copyright, then I feel as if we could have possibly gotten that style. Epic loves female characters due to their popularity among most players. When I first started playing Fortnite in Chapter 1 Season 5, I always wore female skins because, you know, as a female I assume I would only wear female skins, but then not long ago (like chapter 2 Season 4), I started wearing male skins because I would always get mistaken as a sweat. Now since I wear male skins most of the time, no one targets me. Odd isn’t it? 🤨
I’m so thankful a big voice in the fortnite community brought this up. All I wear is male skins. I understand why people wear the female skins but I just like to wear skins that reflect who I am. Like the hero’s I grew up on or the actions stars or amazing battle suits or anime. This needed to be addressed and I’m glad you address it. This issue needs more attention for people who feel like me.
Without even watching to video and just reading the title, I completely agree! Most of my favorite skins, like Raven, Zenith, and many more are males. It’s honestly sad how Underappreciated male skins are.
Raven has more reskins/remixes than Ravage though? Raven, Frozen Raven, Ravenpool, Hallowhead, Graven, Grave Feather VS Ravage, Bone Ravage, and Myna; Ravage's skins and reskins are amongst the least used cosmetics in the game according to replay bot, which the most used cosmetic of them being the 300th least used skin in the game (least used of the sort being Bone Ravage with 100th least used skin in the game).
Drift Midas Peely Funk Ops Overtaker Rabbit Raider Blinky Stratus Guernsey Ghost/Shadow Enforcer Grill Sergeant Munitions Major Those are the best male skins, and many of them are only 800. 👍
As a female myself, I used to use only female because that’s what I thought was better for me, but now I main male skins because i like wearing underrated skins so I don’t seem like a sweat
Thank you! I was really annoyed by this and im happy you made a vid about this. It pisses me off because if this was reversed and females would get less edit styles and attention, people would be all over epic for it
i swear if some pro player pulls up to fncs with groot or agent peely or any skin like that, every single sweat would start using it and say that “it’s the cleanest skin”.
There are so many good male skins that deserve so much more attention. As much as the female skins are cool too, some male skins deserve so much more attention
As someone who usually always mains male skins, it's just really unfair honestly; i'm also tired of seeing the "They don't sell well" excuse, well maybe if epic gave male skins the same love as female ones they'd sell well???? Make it make sense 💀
Indeed, the “they don’t sell well” is a bad excuse. The whole point of edit styles is to give bonuses to skins that don’t sell well. But fortnite doesn’t think about that anymore since it’s only uncommon/rare rarity female skins that get edit styles now
I mean some people like Seawolf come back every month but I never seen it run. So they don't sell the males becuase there never ever run so that's kinda thier excuse I guess.
@@NowayTino that’s what I’m sayin, at the start fortnite was giving edit styles to outdated skins or skins that need more/don’t sell well. But now they only give edit styles to skins that are popular like ruby, kyra, scarlet commander, etc. they forgot what the purpose of edit styles were in the first place imo. It’s Alr that popular sweat skins are getting edit styles but when it’s only them, then there’s an annoyance

At this point i think we all realize wether it’s a female or male skin if you’re good at the game you’re good if you’re not you’re not, regardless of skins, it’s streamers that made this toxic mind set and epic listens to them so that’s the issue.
i guess it’s because of the size, people tend to use basic and smaller skins because they want to be able to see more. that’s also the reason why backblings are hardly used nowadays. anything that can give a slight advantage will be used.
I think Fortnite gives popular skins edit styles to make it more popular and also give edit styles to skins that people don’t use and need to be revived
How it works: Male skin - super creative creature with intense design and amazing value for what it has to offer. Interesting model to accompany the outfits theme. Female skin - the same model, nothing interesting other than "sharing" the same theme with its male counterpart. Sometimes just a copy-paste.
So what your saying all females skins are copy and paste and the same model as one another that can be said about male skins too how many jonesy skins are there like 100 and clearly people think there more interesting considering that the females skins are more popular and a lot male skin are counter parts to the females one
It makes me feel sad seeing awesome male skin designs getting no love. While pretty much every basic looking female skin getting a ton of styles. Most of my fave and most used skins are males, and knowing Epic Games, they will not give them styles.
This is why I don’t worry about male/female or edit styles. I keep my focus on skins I feel like are unique and interesting. I’ve noticed it seems like I don’t see many people running the skins I run as a result, which is always nice to feel more individual and not so mainstream in game. Guess I just like to be different.
The Crimson Elite to me is a very underrated skin. It was my first ever skin I bought and I wish people saw how many good combos you can make with it. But people can’t really get the chance to see it because they hardly update it with a new edit style. Great video!
Thanks for spreading awareness to this topic. As someone who only uses male skins, epics decisions feel like a punch in the face and made me stop spending money on this game.
I hate that girl skins get more attention then males. I can understand why but male skins are actually unqine like the Midas skin, Omega skin, and the John Wick skin. Those are awesome skins!
I feel that I'm the only person that doesn't like to use female skins it just feels weird to me. I know the majority of the community uses only female skins but there's other people that don't and prefer males so why only caring about the majority and not try to make everyone happy. And I think they should give more attention to some male skins that don't seel well, Moisty Merman for example he got 3 edit style back in 2019 he needed it and I think it was really good think to do.
Thanks for talking about this! My favourite skins are Raptor, Drift, and Bushranger. I don't see the point of maining female skins if you don't like the design of them. They're only slightly slimmer than male skins, and don't actually improve gameplay. I still really like a ton of female skins, like Waypoint and pitstop, but I prefer male skins
For me it's just a matter of being used to the ads of female skins. I'm so used to the slimmer model that having more of the screen taken up feels weird, even though it's not a big difference.
This is so true everyone is buying girl mogul masters or like most variety when there is a male and female skin to pick mostly it is the girls and there is so many UNDERRATED male skins that just get ignored.
I just feel like the male skins sometimes have a bigger hit box then the females skins most people use the female skins because of the slim shape of the female skins which probably makes it easier to slip out of fights and through edits maybe this is just a guess
My problem really isn't that they give a style to one or the other, but it's that not everything in the set gets a style. Like, they give a style to the skin, but the cosmetics that go with them don't match. If they chose to give a skin a different style along with everything else, then that's fine, but then that leaves the question, why not the other skin as well? In the end, I guess what they should do is that if they give a new style to a skin in a set it should be for everyone and I guess from here on out, they should just focus on skins that are by themselves.

i would like an edit style for the entire mothmando set. i love that skin and maybe they could make it a butterfly inspired look, contrasting with the moth aestetic of the original edit style.
Sushi master was my first skin and I always ran it. Facts 100% FACTS. Every time when a female skin from a set that also comes with a male counterpart gets an edit style ...I would also say ....wow that's a shame...because the female counterpart gets an edit style 😕 honestly I run a lot of male skins ...for example : my favorite male skins are Bonehead Orin and verge
You'r right female skins get more attention that males because all female skins are slimer than the males and it gives the player that use it an advantage. Thats what most of the fortnite community says which for me is bullshit, cause in my opinion i think that everyone should play with the skins they like. And i also run more male skins than female and my favorite are kondor, the burning wolf and ronin
I agree, even bulky skins in my opinion, I get why they don't wear them but, master chief, ice king, ultiminknight, or, predator, and more are some of my favorite skins!
Male skins are honestly great! One of my favorite skins is the Cuddle King, and I’m glad he came back so I could get him this Valentine’s Day. This issue is really sad, especially that you feel unique and out of place when you where a male skin. When you see one, people automatically think it’s a bad player.
Agree!!! The male skin is really rare, if they have one, it's a counterpart of the female skin and it is mostly with no face, mostly non-human or just mask), it's like a female disney BR game
I don’t think it’s about male or female skins I think it’s about the skins that sell better. And since the majority of female skins do better than the male ones they don’t bother making an edit style for them. I think that back when they released skins like the male counterparts for Wiplash and Bullseye and people didn’t really buy them Fortnite took it as the community not liking the male skins.
I strongly agree with you in this subject ITF.I own many of these male skins and sure love to have edits just like their female counterparts…where is the love for them,Epic??? 💔😥

Ye man as someone who preferably gets the male version, this offends me…
I agree, even bulky skins in my opinion, I get why they don't wear them but, master chief, ice king, ultiminknight, or, predator, and more are some of my favorite skins!
My man Mecha Team Leader NEEDS more love.
@@jgstudios117 true, but it's still a good skin nonetheless
I have a male skin that wasn’t released for over 842 days
Exactly. I was so sad that kenji didn't get an edit style. I own both him and kuno, so it was quite annoying to me :/
Male skins are honestly great! One of my favorite skins is the Cuddle King, and I’m glad he came back so I could get him this Valentine’s Day. This issue is really sad, especially that you feel unique and out of place when you where a male skin. When you see one, people automatically think it’s a bad player.
Shot caller is my main, there was a glimpse of him getting a black style in the chapter 2 season 4 trailer but they never released it.
Italk I’m very happy u made dis video because ur right
I just don’t see why it’d so hard to add the same edit styles to both male and female versions of skins.
Can you imagine a Paradox/chinase vampire skin with a childish edit style like Lace has?
I'm so glad both toxic trooper and hazard agent got a yellow style, I would've been so annoyed if only hazard agent got it.
just give my man fennix a style they made him a 30 day shop rotation skin like there are so many concepts out there
Here from the live stream last night when you edited this 😂
@@HoosierMan1816 I know, I watched the video.
I think the only thing that could help is possibly have FNCS competitors/ big time streams choosing male skins over female skins
I strongly agree with you in this subject ITF.I own many of these male skins and sure love to have edits just like their female counterparts…where is the love for them,Epic??? 💔😥
As someone who mainly uses male skins I would also like to see them get more attention
thanks for talking about it, it's something I had realized
They gave raptor a Halloween style, but not velocity. That’s my only complaint tbh
I'm glad this is being talked about.
