- In this Control4 video we'll be taking a look at a viewer question that combines the Timer and Variables Agents in combination with Conditional Logic to setup a keypad for actions based around a playlist. What a GREAT VIDEO!!!!! I have watched 4 of your videos so far... Best information yet on features no one really knows!! I loved the one about the favorite channels added.
I do have a question though, how can i get my lights to flash on and off or change a color on and off without crashing my c4 system. For instance, if I triggered an alarm and it was a fire alarm, how can i get the outside lights to flash red white, red white... so that fire knows this is the house with the issue? Or to get scare the kids and wife and trigger self destruct on... the lights flash on and off red white red white for 2 mins or so? Thank you in advance, and PLEASE keep making these videos!!!! Your skill and talent is badly needed.
I have no idea if you’re trolling me or not but thanks for watching dude. I hope my videos help you. There’s a lot to unpack in your response, flashing lights would require some sort of trigger, a motion sensor ideally. As far as changing colors, the lighting you have must be capable of color changing. I’m not aware of a native control4 RGBW light so that will also likely require a third party driver. Let’s say you have KASA bulbs and access to the Chowmain KASA driver, as well as a control4 motion sensor. You could implement a set of programming that based on the time of day, when the motion sensor senses motion to flashing your KASA lights between white and red. If your system is crashing I’d ask what controller you’re running? If you want to send me your project file, I’ll look at it when I have some time and assess what could be possibly causing your issue. This is all of course assuming you’re not just trolling me. Great tutorial! You are a gifted C4 instructor. Do you know if it's possible to execute a command based on the month of the year? Example: In Jan turn on outside lights 1 hour before sunset, but in Jul 30 min after sunset.

@@QVisionGarage Would I have to create an event for each day of the year and have it repeated every year? I forgot to mention that I am trying to set to a scheduled daily task and adjust the timing based on the current month. Didn't think the scheduling agent is that flexible
@@barboso1 I’d have to take a look but I believe you could write the custom script and have it repeat each day of the month you want it. There might be another way.
