Yes thats exactly right the 1st King of Belgium was elected by the Belgians hence their title "King of the Belgians" and not King of Belgium because Leopold 1 von Sachen-Cobourg und Gotha didn't inherit the land nor was he appointed by god, but by the people. Thats why the King takes an Oath in the house of the people "parliament" on the throne of the Belgians (the throne belongs to the people) thats why their is no crown and orb and why the king isn't made king in a church.
