I like the looks of interceptor better. But r9t sure rides better with better handling it seems. And more power ofcourse. Interceptor is probably one of the most value for money bikes out there.
Yes, completely agree. It would be a complete disaster if bmw being at least twice as expensive didn’t deliver. So it does! But riding position isn’t for me, so r nine t is ruled out. I am still very curious about the new r 12.
I had considered the R9T before my interceptor, but in the end the price was much more for the R9T and the 110hp promoted some poor behaviour (even on the test ride). Obviously the BMW does many things better (twice the cost) but it doesn’t have the character or rawness of the Interceptor. Upgrades and customization cost a lot more on the BMW limiting my ability for personalization, so have been very happy with my Interceptor.
Hey Daryl! Pretty much the same thinking here as well. I am glad I didn’t buy r 9 as my first bike. Insurance was prohibitive in the first place. I started to think about other bikes recently, but can’t chose anything that would be substantially better than the interceptor. So decided to satisfy my curiosity with test rides.
I do the same, it helps that I have a friend that works for the local BMW, Triumph, Ducati, Indian, Royal Enfield, Zero dealer, provides lots of options. Looking forward to trying the RE Shotgun when it finally arrives.
I’m at the age where horsepower means Jack 💩. As you get older your reactions slow down, your need to get somewhere very quickly recedes and your fallibility is more real. I love my Interceptor, it is right for me now, but doesn’t suit everyone. 👍
Hi Martin! This is why interceptor is in such a sweet spot. It suits new riders (like me) and seasoned riders (like you). Like I said in the video I am glad r ninety wasn’t my first bike - it would get me into a lot of trouble! To be honest, the only reason why I started to think about the new wheels is the whining noise my bike makes. I didn’t notice it at first and didn’t pay attention. But since I heard it, I can’t I hear it. It is only noticeable in 1/2 gear and on slower speed without throttle. But it is annoying. I will need to make an episode and ask for advice.
@@thesundayrides not had that issue with mine at all, so would be intetested to hear from others. I have not read it on any forums either! I hope you get it sorted, maybe louder pipes might help? 😂
@@martinholt2844 Louder pipes are already helping. accelerating above 40 mph masks the issue completely. but London is all 20 mph, so it needs attention
To say the RE has better shifting is so funny. The BMW bikes are so smooth almost too smooth and can't even feel the shifting. Sorry mate but these two bikes are like night and day different. The only bike I'd compare to my RT will be the Bonny Speed Twin or Guzzi. The RE is just cheap old man bike.
@@thesundayrides I had a Honda too....still biased? Nah...you can enjoy your RE. I get it. It's cheap and provides some fun but don't tell me it's better than BMW, Honda or Triumph or whatever.
@@petkoandreev7869 and I am not. It is cheaper but it is not cheap. It all depends on what you expect from the bike and from the money you spent on it. Peace ✌️
I love the end when the Interceptor 650 starts, that sound is wonderful...😍
Thanks very much! Tec pipes sound very well on the interceptor! Stock exhaust on the r9t is way too quiet
I also love hearing the sound of the Continental GT 650 (Interceptor's sibling) engine and exhaust when riding the bike 😎
Hey! Great little review! If you're ever around this area again, I'd love to meet up! Got an interceptor as well as a 2019 sportster! Love them both!
Hey Jorge! Absolutely, would be great to meet up! Are you a part of the interceptor owner face book group? We can connect there!
@@thesundayrides nice one! I'm not! What's the exact name to find it please?

Nice bike Max but you're bike looks and sounds much better 🙂🏍👍🇬🇧
Hey Kenneth! Thanks!! Perhaps the solution is the new suspension for the interceptor 🇬🇧
Max, can you make a video about Int 65 vs Bonneville. Would love to see your thoughts!
Hey! Thanks, I will! I am going to test ride a few triumphs soon.
At first I thought it is your new bike and it make me feel little upset, so much I like your interceptor)
Don't worry! The interceptor is still with me!

Interesting choice you made here to jump on an R Nine T - certainly world apart when it comes to the engines!
I was always tempted to try the BMW. There is one thing that Interceptor does better - laid back and easy going vibe. And that’s why I am on it!

Thats right
Seriously? R9T v Interceptor?
Why not?

You are biased dude. I am glad that you like your r nine t. Enjoy it. But don’t piss off old man bike owners.
