I am really sorry to reply so late. It can be that the weather is very warm or your hands are really warm and so the fondant gets soft. I had the same problem a little while ago when I was trying to make some fondant flowers and the weather was really hot, so I had to mix quite a lot of tylo powder and powder sugar with cornstarch into my fondant to get it to a perfect modelling consistency. You can always mix it with a little tylo powder(and I mean really little like 1/2 tsp or less) and/or with a mix of 50/50 powder sugar and corn starch until it gets a firm consistency. I find that some brands have a really soft fondant which is not so good for modelling, actually fondant as it is is better for just covering cakes. But if you add a little tylo powder and powder sugar and cornstarch mix you can get it to a perfect consistency for modelling.
