Here's what in my canoe pack. Not for everyone.

In this video I'll show you what gear goes in my canoe pack. Everything from my kitchen setup, what goes in my PFD, my sleep system and more. Everything in my canoe pack comes with me even on a tandem trip. Doesn't matter if this is for a 3 day or 10 day trip these always come with me.
I'll do another video for what food and clothes I bring.

Nice set up. How do you keep your gear looking like new after a couple of years use? It all looks amazing. Thought it was a big no-no to put carabiners on non releasable parts of a PFD and even more so if they’re not locking.

Hey thanks for the comment. The carabiner was just for hanging my PFD at camp. It’s not a permanent fixture to my PFD.

Thanks Lori. There’s a great deal of gear to bring into the backcountry whether it be for just one with or without a dog or with another person. My pack weight is typically around 55 pounds. It’s amazing all that plus my food and clothing fits in the pack. Thanks for the sub

Great video! Wish I seen this before I went on my first trip! I packed way to much and we did over 17 portages I had 10 boys with me for scouts it was a great adventure and can’t wait to do again

Thanks Mike. There’s many of us with tons of experience but the best way to pack is trial and error to a certain extent to figure out what works best for you. It can be fun as well.

Nice informative video. Mike, just a personal question, how many hours does it take you to drive to Algonquin Park ? I’m assuming that is your upcoming destination. Have you ever ventured to the Wendell Beckwith complex, center of the universe ?

Thanks Jeffrey. It was fun doing the video just the day before my 5 day solo back into Algonquin the other week. Check out my last video teaser of that trip. It takes me 3 hours from Toronto, Beaches to the West Gate. Wendell Beckwith complex? Is that in Thunder Bay? Never heard of it or been. I’ll be back in the woods on the 16th. Keep on watching. Ah those wind chimes were bought at Robinson’s in Dorset, Ontario. You have a good eye. The tent is a Marmot and the footprint fits nearly perfect. Why buy another, right? Thanks for watching. More vids coming up soon. Just got back from a 5 day trip.
